Apply today!We are currently seeking Regression Test Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. Job Statement and Core CompetenciesThe Quality Control Test Engineer analyzes and understands how the software is used by end users, designs test cases to achieve thorough coverage of the product features and modules and executes these tests to ensure the software product shipped to production is of high quality. This will be accomplished through maintenance and thorough understanding of client use cases, translating client requirements into test cases and understanding consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical business practices and needs.As a member of the agile software development team, the Test Engineer works with others to develop and perform the functional, regression testing required for successful product releases.

• Nice to have : Printing, Packaging and Graphics Industry skills:
  • Graphics arts knowledge for Printing industry
  • Proficiency in use of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator)
• Process related: Agile /Scrum, Configuration management, Software test environments control
• Analysis: Analysis of requirements / user stories using formal methodologies / techniques to identify gaps
• Testing:
  • Test case design using various techniques / approaches to achieve optimal test coverage
  • Test data generation and selecting the right test data
  • Test execution and test reporting
  • Well-versed with various types of testing (like system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, etc.,)
  • Good understanding of bug life cycle
• Technology: Good understanding of Web and/or Client / Server technology; Experience in workflow management Software / products
• Tools: Jira or any alternate tool, Test Link or any other alternate tool for test case management, Perforce or any alternate version control tool
• Operating Systems: Working experience in products / applications designed for Windows and Mac operating systems
• Good knowledge on software quality assurance and quality control
• Good knowledge / understanding on productivity and quality metrics being tracked in the project
• Good analysis and problem solving skills
• Effective and Clear Communicator, facilitate meetings, asking right questions, actively listen and ability to collect right inputs
• Very good communication skills (both written and spoken)

Job DutiesDevelopment and maintenance of all functional and regression tests

• Architect, design and develop all tests using industry best practices and to ensure their continued reusability
• Conduct code review of developed test scripts and ensure appropriate steps are taken to address issues
• Perform manual quality testing
• Review and approve test scripts written by other project team members prior to execution
• Review requirements to ensure that the design will solve the client s problem and will meet the mission
• Support project planning efforts by providing inputs to and estimates for project schedules, scope and resource requirements as they relate to software testing.
• Effectively communicate test considerations, defects, process initiatives, and general status of projects to the Quality Control staff, functional management and executive management

Maintenance of Testing Environments

• Build and maintain the Quality Control test environment used for testing; including Linux and Windows server setup, software installation/upgrades and control of static data/configuration required for testing
• Configure, maintain and control all supporting tools used for testing; including but not limited to Selenium (Java), Jira, Git/Perforce, Jenkins, and Docker

Analysis on the areas of the system to automate

• Analyze what areas of the system that should be automated compared to what is already captured in the automation framework.

Team Leadership to assist in the continuous growth of the testing processes

• Become the subject matter expert for the testing framework and create solid test plans for both new features, as well as past features and defects
• Continuous learning on new technologies and ways to improve internal processes based on industry best practices
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills; and can write advanced documentation
• Establishes respect and credibility with internal team members
