    Job descriptionAssistant Director - Book Writing Required qualification Postgraduate, MBA or PhD (preferred) EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) Content Center of Excellence is looking for a Senior Business Book Writer at the Assistant Director rank.Were looking for candidates with exceptional writing and storytelling skills for a business book ghostwriting assignment. They will be responsible for creating original and compelling content that helps position and promote the authors as thought leaders in the operational transformation space. The role will involve collaborating with the team of author(s) through the life cycle of the book development - preparing the plan and outline, researching topics, writing the manuscript, working with artists to develop illustrations, publishing, and helping create content for promotional materials.The candidate should have ghostwriting experience across books, publications, thought leadership and reports. They should also be able to effectively employ different modes of discourse - narration, description, exposition and argumentation - and storytelling to come up with compelling content. Role and responsibilities: - Define the strategy and personality of the book to align with expected market position- Guide the authors, as necessary, through the book development life cycle- Build an engaging storytelling framework to convert complex business ideas into relatable and usable narratives - Collaborate with authors to leverage relevant research and contextualize it for developing innovative content ideas - Devise a persona-based narrative structure to build content that will resonate well with the target audience- Employ effective storytelling techniques to build compelling and persuasive arguments- Collaborate with artists for creative ideation and development of visuals and illustrations - Copyedit, proofread and fact-check content- Project-manage the development of the book - Help authors effectively socialize the book using effective content marketing strategies Skills requirement: Essential:- Adept in creating engaging, inspiring and persuasive B2B content - Good understanding of content strategy, book writing and publishing processes- Conversant with business concepts and ideas- Ability to understand and articulate complex business ideas in an engaging, audience-friendly style - Ability to strike the right balance between story-selling and storytelling- Adept at fact-based analysis and critical thinking to create visual stories using tables, charts, infographics and maps- Solid knowledge of story elements and sharp editing skills- Exceptional attention to detail- Ability to tell stories that inspire action- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills- Experience working closely with senior leadership- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines Desirable: - Understanding of operational excellence practices, preferably in service environments- Experience developing and publishing books for corporates, consulting companies or Big Fours- Experience of developing and publishing books for corporates, consulting companies or Big Fours,
