The Maps team at Swiggy is responsible for enabling delightful booking, allocation, pickup and delivery experiences. Maps POD has industry tech leaders who have driven this charter in Indian context before and are true tech rockstars Tons & tons of location data is the true team differentiator with a possibility to make true impact in daily life of more than 10M customers 150K plus drivers Role -As a Data Scientist for the Maps team, you will - Build models that helps Swiggy move food and parcels via better navigation, location intelligence etc Work closely with world-class Engineering teams, Product Managers and Operations, to build a state of the art system that deeply impacts Swiggy s business and customers. Collaborate with engineering and design to define an ambitious strategy, develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog, and execute on delivering great experiences for users. Come up with multiple hypotheses based on data and drive experiments collaborating with Engineering, Product, Analytics; as well as test the validity of hypothesis with sound statistical methodologies Conceptualize solutions and driving them to implementation around how to leverage ping, sensor, location data - ex: point of interest, speed by road segment at a given instance, route optimization, navigation within complexes etc What do we look for Past experience working on geospatial data, maps, location intelligence etc is must Working experience with large scale ML datasets ( 100 GB ) for modeling is a must ( Mandate) Couple of examples - Solving for Last-Last Mile, improving safety via monitoring of Delivery partner paths etc Experience with HMM, Kalman filter etc to solve map-matching, outlier treatment and associated problems Visualization experience using tools like Kepler a must Using different location signals to derive inference and build intelligence into products/ solutions Experience with geo-spatial libraries etc- GDAL, PROJ, geoJSON, geoPanda Previous experience with GoogleMaps, OSM ( Open street maps) etc preferred Masters degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, business, finance, economics or related fields 7 years of overall experience with at-least 1 year of experience in geospatial, location intelligence, Maps.
