Job DescriptionFlight Plan Manager team develops a comprehensive flight planning solution for the market. This is a mission critical product for Sabre airline business due to its superior cost optimization capabilities. FPM combines complete data support services notice to airmen (NOTAMS), weather, airport suitability and airspace restrictions with real-time alerts. The 4-D cost optimization functionality, route, altitude, speed and time are simultaneously analyzed to create an optimal flight path that accounts for fuel costs, CO2 emissions and delays. The solution is used by 30+ airlines including such big players as United Airlines or Turkish Airlines and the customer base is growing each year.Working in the FPM team will challenge you and help you develop your business, technical and interpersonal skills. You will have an opportunity to cooperate with young and enthusiastic team. We are currently looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Bangalore and play a crucial role in the SQL Server administration and maintenance.RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general direction, plans complex computerized databases, including base definition, structure, capacity, documentation, long-range requirements, high availability and disaster recovery, operational guidelines and protection.Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls.Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.Monitors system health and works on raised alerts.Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.Debug code and profile system performance to troubleshoot functional and non-functional issues.Responsible for maintaining and updating complex databases.Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.Writes and produces standardized and complex customized or ad hoc reports.Writes documentation for database environment architecture, setup, and implemented changes.Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.Keep up to date with the latest technology trends and best practicesProvides on-call support during scheduled time windowJob RequirementsKnowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014 and above)Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and above)Minimum of 5 years commercial experience in SQL Server administrationExperience with Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Backups, Maintenance tasks, Mirroring, Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Failover Clusters, TDE)Knowledge of relational databases, T-SQL, query execution plans, solving concurrency issues and deadlocksExperience with Microsoft SQL Server Data ToolsKnowledge of database monitoring tools (Idera DM is a plus)Able to understand complex application workflowsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsPerformance profilingKnowledge of PowerShellKnowledge of GIT source control systemProblem solving and analytical skillsExperience with Change Control process (ServiceNow is a plus)Experience with SQL Server patching proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication in EnglishExperience in working with global, distributed teamsGreat communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionEDUCATION: Please contact your Human Resources Representative.
