Hospitals today heavily rely on nurses manually monitoring patients. This leads to missed patient symptoms, longer hospital stays, and worse patient outcomes overall. Stasis increases hospital access to automatic, continuous monitoring by designing smart medical devices that are easy to use and networked with the cloud. Weve converted medical hardware into a data-driven SaaS product.Our monitors are currently live in hospitals in India, and are built for a global distribution. We have teams in Los Angeles, Bangalore, and working remotely. About the RoleWere looking for someone with a proven ability to develop polished, complex web apps with modern technologies. You should feel comfortable diving into a modern React / ES6 codebase, wrangling CSS, and be flexible enough to work closely with full-stack and backend engineers. Your first project will be a ground-up reworking of our user-facing progressive web app, so you ll be building important software from your very first day.Your primary responsibility will be working on our React-based web application, but you should be comfortable working full-stack at times, and understanding how the components of our software stack fit together. Our entire software stack spans multiple platforms, including custom hardware. Youll be building the primary way that doctors interact with the Stasis System when outside of the hospital.We at Stasis believe user experience is a key part of the value we provide to hospitals. Were a small team and are looking for someone who can learn quickly and become competent in multiple parts of the tech stack, so we hope the idea of working with a variety of technologies excites you.We are just beginning, and are striving to build an inclusive and positive company culture.RequirementsAt least 3 years of experience working as a JavaScript engineerExperience with ES6 and modern JavaScriptExperience with React.js and ReduxStrong knowledge of CSS (plus LESS and / or SASS)Both software engineering skills and product senseComfort with full-stack software engineering and CS fundamentalsAbility to write clear, maintainable, thoughtfully commented codeExperience with asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAXExperience building modern front end SPAsExperience with React NativeDisciplined approach to test-driven development, A/ B testing, and metrics-driven decision making.Design skills and experience with Sketch (or Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) a plusExcellent attention to detail and an eye for visuals. Ability to critique and modify existing designs.Knowledge of SQL (ideally experience with PostgreSQL)Solid understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance.,
