Job Description

Security Engineering Specialist Fortinet IDPS: To produce technicaldesigns, work with project/ delivery and lifecycle management to ensure successful implementation of tailored and emerging solution deals. To provide security engineering expertise in support of Group Technology Security standards and policies for the Vodafone, installed security appliances and infrastructure. A key team member on strategic or enterprise-wide technology projects or issues, providing technical input.Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Ownership of the Fortinet IDPS environment, including, but not limited to, Installation, Implementation, Administration, Content Creation (rules, reports, dashboards, etc.), and Engineering support
• Performs environment health assessments, capacity planning and performance benchmarks providingoperational assurance (operational readiness)
• Respond to Cyber Defense Incident Alerts (CDIA), provide appropriate CDIA reporting, investigate said Incident, perform ITIL Incident Problem tracking and bring each incident to an appropriate resolution
• Responsible for IDPS product lifecycle including, but not limited to, product patches, product upgrades, product redesigns, product EOL, etc.
• Interface with other Global Technology Security teams, as well as, other Technology departments and business stakeholders
• Understand and advocate Cyber Security standards, reference architectures.
• Stay current with developing technologies, emerging threat landscape and predict impact of changing technologies.
• Ensure consistent delivery of superior technical solutions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.
• Review documentation for clarity and technical accuracy; maintain relations with other service stakeholders.
• Advanced analytical skills for review, modification and creation of complex technical documents or related manuals.
• Has advanced skills to perform complex work for a functional area and general knowledge of other areas.
• Assists in the design, implementation and operation of Vodafone security architecture and/or subsequent security protection schemes. Identifies and analyzes operational risks, collects security expectations and finds an optimal solution.
• Designs solutions in alignment with security architecture standards. Liaises withvendors concerning the potential solutions.
• Provides advice to meet specific client requirements.
• Contributes to the implementation of new and modified security systems in conjunction with security requirements.
• Suggests global security standards and approves deviations.
• Prepares and ensures quality documentation in accordance with Vodafone & industry standards.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Minimum of 9 years IT experience & 3 years experience with Fortinet IDPS & Firewall or equivalent with other IDPS tools
• Must have hands-on experience with rule creation and maintenance, IDPS administration, report analysis and providing recommendations of future configurations and rules
• knowledge of IDPS integration with Monitoring tools, AAA & SIEM technologies (i.e.: Splunk, HP ArcSight)
• Expert knowledge of SSL Inspection, Access Control, Policy Management, TCPIP layer 3-7 and general networking structures
• Understanding of Multiple Security Products like Firewall, Content Filtering, Proxies and Netflow technologies and operations
• A good understanding of Industry Security standards (i.e.: ISO27002, NIST Cyber Security Framework, etc.) and System hardening concepts
• Operating knowledge of ITIL (ITIL Certification a plus)
• Skilled in the areas of log analysis and Packet capture and understanding of common analysis techniques and tools
• Validation of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Overlook Complex Change Assessment and Implementation
• Moderator Role for Knowledge Base Articles
• Team, vendor & stakeholder management.

Communication:

• Good communication skills in order to drive the various operationally required communication processes within the Security function

• B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc/MCA/B.Sc. Computer Science
• Exposure to manage large environment/ Infrastructure
• Certification s i.e. certification/expertise in latest Cyber Security technologies as specifi ed above.
• Excellence in a specialized professional field (comp rehensive knowledge of the theories, methodology and practice of a professional field and deep understanding of several other fields) Proficiency in a specialized field or a broad insight into the relationship between different fields. Knowledge is acquired through deep and/or broad experience built on concepts and principles.
