Job Description

Position Purpose & Summary As a Self-Service Analytics (SSA) Senior Platform Engineer, you will be working on a small team responsible for full stack administration, operation, support and growth of Cargill s SSA analytic platforms including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Alteryx. These systems enable thousands of users around the globe and this role will help ensuring those systems are resilient, performant, and reliable.Key to the success of this position will be a courageous and innovative approach to problem solving, deep engineering curiosity and excellent communication skills. Individuals who possess a self-motivated working style with attention to detail will thrive in this environment and culture.Principal Accountabilities Platform Engineering: 50%

• Build and maintain high quality infrastructure as code with zero-touch deployment, self-healing features, elasticity, and highly available architecture
• Build and maintain initial configurations for Windows and Linux server deployments
• Automate the administration/operations of the infrastructure and applications
• Build and maintain monitoring/telemetry, log aggregation, and reporting/dashboarding on infrastructure performance, application performance, and user behaviors
• Build and maintain standard authentication and access patterns for integrations within Cargills broader data/technology ecosystem

Platform Administration/Operations: 30%

• GUI based application administration of Power BI / Tableau / Alteryx including activities such as user access and content management
• Operationally support the infrastructure and applications including break/fix and service requests; 24x7 on-call support when needed; Tier 2+ community support
• Support the community in weekly office hours sessions

Relationships / Community: 10%

• Partner with the Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) teams to maintain and support application licensing and software distribution
• Maintain SSA s collaborative working relationships with the broader IT engineering community including the network, proxy, IHS (infrastructure hosting services), security (TGRC) and cloud teams
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams as required to troubleshoot and resolve issues outside the scope of SSA s expertise
• Work closely with Cargill s internal communities to gather feedback and drive reliable platform services and features
• Provide key insights about the platforms including performance and adoption to community stakeholders

Mentoring / Coaching: 10%

• Provide analytics tools and platforms subject matter expertise to the SSA community (and team) including topics such as performance best practices, connectivity, and security
• Demonstrate your work to the broader Cargill community through public demos and in small group or individual coaching sessions

,Education, Experience, Skills Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in experience
• 5+ years of experience with engineering globally distributed business applications with demonstrated ability to optimize for resiliency and latency
• 5+ years of experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reporting/dashboarding
• Ability to travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deployment and administration of analytics platform components such as Tableau Server; Tableau Mobile; Power BI Cloud Service; Power BI Premium; Power BI Gateway; Power BI Embedded; Power BI Mobile; Alteryx Server; Alteryx Connect.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies such as: Jenkins CI, Drone, Github, and Artifactory
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure as a service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, or OpenStack
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as: Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, and Terraform
• Experience with development using GitHub & VSTS
• Experience scripting with Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell
• Experience with package management and patching strategy and tooling
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration
• Experience with enterprise networking and routing, including interface config, DNS, proxies, firewalls
• Experience with TLS including certificate management and troubleshooting
• Experience with the Agile mindset and DevOps concepts
• Experience working in virtual teams across multiple time zones with multiple cultures
