The suite of products is built for the research and education of developing students as well as the professional genealogist. Ranging from surfacing the leading issues of our world to reviewing census records hundreds of years old, the architect will be setting the direction of future enhancements to this set of products.About You experience, education, skills, and accomplishments10+ years of technology experience, with at least 3+ in an architecture role and 5+ in software engineering.Architects are expected to have a working knowledge of technologies or SAAS from each of the following groupsAt least 6 years of experience in software architecture and 10 years in software developmentAt least 8 years in Java, LinuxAt least 6 years in Angular or React, Struts, PHP, shell scripting, Groovy/Grails, NginxAt least 4 years in MySQL, JavaScript, AWS, Apache TomcatSpringboot, REST APIs, Message QueuingSOLR or ElasticsearchAt least 1 year in GitHub, JIRA, ConfluenceHave built microservicesUniversity degree in computer science or computer engineeringExcellent collaboration, communication, and visual design skillsIt would be great if you also had . . .Advanced Degree in Computer Science or computer engineeringKnowledge of Selenium or other automated testing frameworksExperience with NoSQL databasesExperience in BitBucket, Adobe Contribute, Handlebars, JSWhat will you be doing in this role Work together with the Head of Architecture and engineering leads to define the long-term technology strategy for the Guided Research applications, evaluating technologies and generating roadmaps as necessary.Assist project teams in mapping their current solutions to the long-term strategy.Provide governance for security, scalability, and disaster recovery in both cloud and on-premise environments.Work closely with the application and DevOps-oriented teams building out the systems, collaborating on design elements and execution specifics as needed. Hands-on work is expected.Advise other local technology teams on best practices, and applicable technologies, and educate teams on the basics of cloud-native delivery.Reviewing requirements and providing feedback and estimatesInteracting with stakeholders as a technical consultantProviding architecture for several web applicationsProviding technical guidance and mentoring software engineersInvestigating integration of third-party technologiesProduct you will be developingThe team maintains and supports several applications, including a K12 research platform, a culture-oriented application, learning tools, and a suite of genealogy products.
