Job Description

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree or PhD in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with research design utilizing various methods including but not limited to usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys. Relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience within User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, applied research setting, and/or product research and development.
  • Experience in a variety of product spaces, applied research and/or academic settings.
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross functional partners to drive impact.
  • Have a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning about Cohesity and has the drive to understand our users core needs along with an analytical mindset for processing the data gathered.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Researcher you will work closely with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other Stakeholders to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing).
  • Work directly with customers to make sure that our new product ideas will be usable and valuable.
  • Manage and conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Participate in recruiting users for your research.
  • Plan and deliver research programs within budget, timeline and project requirements.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Synthesize/analyze data and findings, developing actionable insights, outputs and frameworks for both short-term and long-term research needs.
  • You will present your findings to stakeholders to ensure that the research is understood and able to be implemented in our products.
  • Provide input and guidance to junior team members and colleagues, helping teams get on the right track and stay customer focused
