You will be part of an expert team working onnext generation data center products that enable large scale low-latency networkingand storage IO virtualization.What Youll DoPrimary job responsibilities include the design, development, debugging and testing ofBIOS software for Cisco UCS servers. Participate in product development in all stagesfrom planning and design to development and testing. Good candidates should beproactive in managing work including meeting schedules, identifying risks, anddelivering high quality Firmware. Candidate will be part of a bright engineering teamthat has an open communication, empowerment, teamwork, innovation and customersuccess culture.Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clearly understand businessobjectives, customer needs, and product requirements.Write functional specifications detailing required functionality and all other meaningful(design, unit test, Interface specs, etc.) documentation.Study industry specifications, vendors hardware documentation, then implementsupporting BIOS into existing code basesImplement silicon support in our platform BIOS. Integrate silicon vendors referencecode.Participation in code review, code analysis, requirements analysis, risk analysis, codeprofiling and tuning.Responsible for the ownership of BIOS modules.Ownership of platform BIOS through the platform lifecycle from bring up throughsustenance.Developing a working relationship with all stakeholders (Program mgmt, validation,Tech marketing, interface design teams, etc) in defining work schedule, design,interface, execution in a matrix organization.Debug and tackle real world BIOS, OS, Hardware and Device driver issues.Who You Are6+ years of strong BIOS/UEFI/Embedded background.6+ years of experience with C programming language with x86 Assembly language.6+ years of experience with implement silicon support and platform BIOS porting.Sound understanding of System Architecture and Operating Systems concepts.Highly desirable Skills/Experience:Excellent Communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with Debug BIOS, OS, hardware, and driver issues.Experience with AMI Aptio BIOS.Experience in Server and Storage DomainsKnowledge of Tiano based BIOS.Knowledge of PC hardware and operating systems.Knowledge Industry specs like ACPI/PCIE/SCSI/SAS/I2C/IPMI/SMBIOS etc.Deep knowledge of Linux OS behaviors.Deep knowledge of Windows OS behaviors.Understanding of Networking.Remote manageability knowledge.Understanding of advanced software engineering processes and methodologies.#bios #uefi #firmware #bmc #ipmiWe Are Cisco#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as ateam and make a difference.
