The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions for the consumable program. In this role, you will have an opportunity to own design and development of key parts of services. You will have influence on subsystem design and help contribute to a team culture around practices that are critical to a quality product.In this role, you will participate in all parts of the software development process, from collaborating with customers and other stakeholders like product manager, operation, fulfillment, category manager, and finance teams on design to executing that design in a scalable and extensible way. You will collaborate with worldwide external teams, senior software development engineer and principal engineers while working on hard business and design problems. Successful candidates are passionate about translating high-level, ambiguous business goals to software platforms that enable multiple businesses. You are passionate about taking initiative, delivering extensible, on-time solutions, and being a part of high-performing teams.Key Responsibilities: Design, implementation, and deployment of key functional areas in the website, social/community features, mobile platform and mobile applications. Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring and development of technical talent You will work extensively with cross-functional teams across team on the design and development of core platform functionality You will work with business teams and project managers to convert functional requirements into detailed technical specifications. You will work with engineers both onsite and offsite to define technical tasks and build detailed implementation plans. Continue to innovate and build solutions to support business growth and launch new features. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions. Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations. Effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing systems in the industry. Contribute intellectual property through patents, 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent in experience). Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project Previous experience in designing low latency services. Experience in e-commerce and Deep hands-on technical expertise Customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
