Job Description

The candidate for this lead QA position will perform automated and manual testing of software applications for Neustar Enhanced Called ID Platform. This platform consists of Storage for carrier / Enterprise data and providing the Real Time Resolution through various protocol interfaces ( SS7 AIN , ENUM , SIP , REST API etc) with complex business logic. The lead QA engineer will be responsible for working with the Software Engineering personnel , Business Development group , and end Customers to create test plans , test strategies , test cases , release note and software certification , to execute functional and performance testing for various releases for database intensive telecommunication applications. Candidate must have experience working with product teams to review functional requirements and software architecture / design , and good understanding of the telecommunications domain. Responsibilities / Key Tasks Ensure proper QA policies and testing coverage is applied to assigned projects and tasks Participate in the Agile software delivery process by writing , reviewing functional and design specifications , develop and review test cases in Unix Scripting , Python and test automation tools. Write user stories and tasks for sprints , coordinate efforts and communication with the developers and other team members to ensure resolution of defects , and manage / triage defects in the bug tracking system Consult with various cross department team members to review and troubleshoot production issues Drive automation initiatives including white box scripting and functional automation projects Execute performance testing for systems and applications under purview Ensure that products meet or exceed the quality standards by applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures Work with rest of the Quality Assurance and Software Development teams to deploy successful quality processes throughout the software development lifecycle Prepare detailed test reports and software certifications , produce software release notes. Qualifications / Education Requirement 6 - 8 years recent experience in Software Testing and / or Software Test Automation Experience with Shell / Perl / Python scripting in Linux / Unix Environment. Must be proficient in a Linux / Unix environments Experience in Networking including TCP / UDP , Firewall , VPN , IP Networks , Routers and Load Balancers Experience with Telecommunication Applications Including Protocols like SS7 / AIN , ENUM , SIP. Experience testing different web service methodologies REST , JSON payloads Experience working in an Agile environment / familiarity with Agile methodology and tools , ability to seamlessly integrate automation solutions with continuous integration (using Jenkins) build. Experience with virtualization and containerization solutions like VMWare , Oracle VM and Docker will be a plus. Experience with Continuous Deployment and configuration management tools (eg: Chef , Ansible) will be a plus Understanding of the SDLC and comprehensive understanding of the entire Quality Assurance process , including defect submission standards , test case and test plan documentation Strong technical and analytical skills related to software Quality Assurance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exposed to Test Driven Development (TDD) Self - motivated and able to thrive in a results - driven environment High energy , well - organized , team player Job Qualifications: (professional and / or technical certifications , education) BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent Neustar does not accept unsolicited resumes from external firms or agencies.
