Job Description

As a Senior App Developer you will be working on designing and coding heavy duty COBOL & CICS programs and DB2/VSAM for a critical high volume, accounting application.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, controls, outputs and developing first class solutions which would serve the customers well using the standard development methodology followed.
  • Partners with various subsystems and appliactions team to provide software solutions and technical support to meet the needs of the business functions.
  • Aspires to develop software as well as provide technical subject matter expertise to those involved at the business and project levels across the full technology stack
  • Collaborates with many infrastructure groups and UAT teams within JP Morgan & Chase as well as other internal application groups.
  • Contributes to defining time tables and project plans and proposes innovative and creative technology solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on work experience (7-12 years) in Mainframe software development with a reputed firm.
  • Ability to understand Java and distributed front end technologies is a plus.
  • Experience in the accounting or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work well independently.
  • Experience with complex system integration projects.
  • Experience in working in all phases of development (Requirement analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Deployment and post deployment ownership and support).
  • Experience working with business analysts, database administrators, project managers and technical architects in multiple geographical areas.
Technical Skills
  • COBOL,VSAM, DB2, JCL, CICS, DFSORT & Easytrieve is a must.
  • Changeman, FileAid, Xpeditor, IDz/Topaz WB (IDE), NDM, REXX
  • Java, MQ, DB2 Stored Procedures, REST web services, AWS, Angular, git, Jenkins is a plus
  • Confluence/JIRA/Sharepoint Tools
