Job Description

As the leader of Software Engineering team, you will lead a team of software engineers in development of Setra s SaaS platform and embedded products for networked HVAC instrumentation.   • Work on core functionality of our cloud-based platform product both front and back-end, deliver secure, reliable services and construct third party integrations.
  • Lead software development team in executing India projects and joint US-India projects and act as a liaison between the India software development team and the US based engineering and marketing team.
  • Mentor engineers to achieve technical excellence and hold team accountable for achieving goals.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches and tool implementations.
  • Leading and participating in Agile / Scrum activities and reporting project status.
  • Write technical documentation.

  • Ability to influence and empower reports, driving high employee engagement.
  • Bias for action and ability to effectively prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and lead the direct reports in Bangalore.
  • Work around work blockages and multi-task to maximize results.
  • Quality logging of results / reports with supporting data and descriptions
Required Skills/Experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience as Full-stack developer with at least 2 years in leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with front end languages (HTML/ CSS, JS, JQuery) backend languages (e.g. Java/Python/Go/C++) and modern web frameworks (e.g. Angular, React)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. SQL, Cassandra, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx) and UI/UX design.
  • Knowledge of cloud providers (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure) and work experience leveraging their services and APIs
  • Experience with Configuration management tools like bitbucket and git, Agile Project Management tools like Jira, CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Knowledge on designing High Availability and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Experience developing IoT platform.
Education:
  • B.E./B.Tech Degree in Computer Science from a reputed Institute with strong software experience, Masters Preferred.
