nullIn this role, you have the opportunity toDevelop and promote and API way of working for all the services of Philips IT. You would be participating in an initiative that is considered strategic for Philips IT.As Philips grows into becoming the frontrunner and trusted Go To company for solutions and services across the continuum of care and health, its Enterprise IT architecture will be increasing interwoven with its product architecture. Enabling this would need the Enterprise IT architecture to be evolutionary, incorporating platform thinking, a microservices based architecture based on cloud deployment practices.The Philips Enterprise IT architecture is predominantly based on off the shelf software. This is based on significant investments that need to be preserved. In such a circumstance a platform way of thinking needs to promote a Philips (Enterprise IT) API way of working with a set of orchestration capabilities that decouples us from vendor API and vendor specific orchestration only. A platform way of thinking combined with an optimal decomposition and a micro services architecture should also enable a better trade-off between a build vs buy compared to a buy only approach for functional capabilities offered.As part of our platform approach, the Philips API way of working will expect working with API management platforms, integration platforms, Cloud API gateways, API documentation tools that are often a combination of 3rd party tools and custom designs.You are responsible forThe Sr. Technical Specialist - API Mgmt. (this position) will focus on creating blueprints, engage in designing, documenting, developing & testing Philips enterprise APIs.This will involve being closely engaged with the teams the build out the API and managing its life cycle.Given our platform approach will promote an inner source way of development, building tools, techniques and methods to control API changes and versioning will be a key.You would also need to evolve automated test strategies for API s and work with various teams in deployment of the same.The Sr. Technical Specialist - API Mgmt. (this position)You are a part ofYou will be part of the central enterprise architecture team working in close collaboration and under the guidance of the Principal IT Architect. This team is responsible for the conceptualizing , designing and developing the platform.To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experienceBachelor s degree in engineering (computer science or equivalent) with 6+ years experience. This experience should include expertise in an API way of working that includes building micro services that have followed an API life cycle. Additionally, it is expected that one has worked with (either) API management platforms/integration platforms/API documentation tools.Experience in designing and developing solutions/services using SOA/Rest/Micro Service patterns and the associated programming languages used [Java, C#, Python, Go, Kotlin ]Mindsets and personal characteristicsThe role will be part of a geographically distributed team.
