Sr. Component Engineer

• Thrives in multidisciplinary projects that involve electro-mechanical engineering.
• Effectively and efficiently executes project tasks and assignments with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads the evaluation, design, and, development of Electrical and electromechanical systems/sub-systems by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of electronics & electrical circuit designing including Analog, Digital & mixed signals.
• Ensures successful integration of electrical design entities with mechanical and consumable components.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to electrical aspects of the design and interfaces with other design constituents.Contributes to the development and documentation of electrical systems architectures.
• Able to effectively transition products to manufacturing and ensure robust products and manufacturing processes.
• Generates and/or improves electrical and electro-mechanical designs that are optimized for production, reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost.
• Performs in-depth electrical engineering & design analysis and calculations.Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market. Defines protocols and conducts the necessary testing required to verify/validate the quality, safety andperformance of the design(s).
• Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
• Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables, and status.Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
• Create and revise specifications and drawings for control of component procurement by utilizing and maintaining several different product lifecycle management tools.
• Manage component library including schematic symbols and layout footprints.
• Analyze requirements to ensure that parts across multiple product lines conform and are consistent with engineering intent.
• Support design team part selection activities during the product design phase.
• Monitor, identify and resolve all lifecycle issues that include identifying alternative suppliers and components.
• Evaluate and support the development of current and new supplier capabilities, acting as key technical liaison with suppliers.
• Analyze and develop solutions to resolve issues associated with components, including defining and coordinating verification and validation activities.
• Manage and communicate with manufacturers and distributors to evaluate results effectively.
• Manage and perform failure mode analysis, addressing component quality complaints, and working closely with component manufacturers to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience in the design of embedded microcontroller-based electronic devices, including FPGA-based, digital, and analog design.
• Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.
• Knowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board design (e.g., Cadence, OrCAD, Allegro PCB) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW)Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 61010, UL, ANSI, and ASTMIn-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment for the Design, Develop, and Manufacture of Medical products.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated record of working with multiple vendors and suppliers.
• Understanding of the Healthcare regulatory environment and country regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal/influencing skills.Ability to work with multifunctional, global teams.
Education and/or Experience:
• A graduate or a postgraduate in Electrical or Electronics or related engineering or equivalent Engineering and 6-8 years of experience.
• A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware design & development, preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products.
• Specific experience in the design and development of sensing subsystems (flow, pressure sensors) is highly desirable.
