Formed through the merger of IMS Health and Quintiles, IQVIA offers a broad range of solutions that harness the power of healthcare data, domain expertise, transformative technology, and advanced analytics to drive healthcare forward.* Please provide detailed job responsibilities, including associated revenue (where applicable): PURPOSESupport Oracle Databases and interface closely with Senior Management to develop processes that support strategic plans and process improvementRESPONSIBILITIES Ensure prompt resolution of IT issues (with regard to IT solutions, services, or processes) to prevent problem from recurring Identify opportunities to bring in new technologies to improve systems that help increase competitive advantage for business & technology Ensure proactive, timely communication between all parties, including prompt follow up as needed. Maintain awareness in developments in computer technology, industry tools and activities, which may require travel to other Quintiles offices or established training centers. Maintain excellent relationships with site staff, peers, senior management, clients, vendors, customers, and trading partners. Align process improvement procedures with business processes and Information Technology (IT) methodologies to identify business opportunities that leverage technology, reduce costs, and increase staff productivity. Perform other duties as required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Experience working on Oracle 10g, 11g & 12c Experience with SQL Server 2012, 2014, or 2016 will be good but not mandatory Excellent understanding of Database architecture to troubleshoot complex issues Skilled in Installation, Administration, Maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle Databases in UNIX & LINUX environment Proficient with maintaining databases running in ASM environment Strong knowledge of Data guard & Golden Gate Good understanding of tablespace & user management Extensive experience with RMAN backups & recovery Expertise in utilizing data pump for taking logical backups Clone database using RMAN backup, data pump, and hot backup Knowledge of different wait events in Oracle Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and be able to tune database & SQL Find, troubleshoot & resolve long running queries, blocks & dead locks. Experience with tuning the individual sql statements with hints and other means Ask right questions to the right set of people to debug issues Working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX commands required to function as a DBA Basic understanding of networking Basic understanding of change management, ticketing tools, and TSM Independently analyse, solve, and correct the issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Experience in a global, complex and highly virtualized IT environment Should be able to work in a high pressure situation with tight deadlines Impeccable written and verbal communication skills Strong technical, process and problem-solving proficiency Able to work in monthly rotating shifts to provide 24 X 7 support and be available to extend shift if needed.
