Job Description

*Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience., *Role is responsible for creating simple/medium/complex Technical Documents, User Manuals, Help Files and Training/Learning material. Explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and work with Engineering staff and SMEs to ensure accuracy of product descriptions. Align to documentation releases and other deliverables.Primary Skills:

  • Technical Writing with 4-7 years of experience.
  • Tools: Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2019, Adobe FrameMaker (Structured and Unstructured) 2019, Adobe RoboHelp, MS Office Suite, XMetaL Authoring, Epic Editor, Oxygen XML Editor , DITA methodologies.
  • Working knowledge on XMLs, HTMLs, Wikis (Confluence) and JIRA.
  • Familiarity and hands-on to agile methodology, scrum.
  • Good knowledge about Software Technical Writing concepts and tools.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and writing style with an eye for detail.
  • Should possess good communication skills to interface with cross-functional teams.
Pre-Requisites: Education: Degree with 60% or more marks
  • BE/BTech/MCA/Masters or equivalent degree
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Technical Writing for IT/Banking /Other domains
Experience: 4-7 yearsPrimary skills (mandatory)Extensive experience in:
  • Documentation Development Life Cycle (DDLC), SDLC, Agile Methodology
  • IT standards, procedures, policy
  • IT environment
  • Business assessment
Subject matter expert in:
  • Technical Writing
  • IT release/patch set management (product milestone management)
  • Requirements analysis, baselining, publishing and content archival
Secondary skills / knowledge (desirable)
  • Content collaborative solutions
  • Wiki Management, Knowledge Management (on Confluence)
