Sr Engineer

Job Description

The Sr Engineer , D&T , Hardware & Embedded Solutions requires in - depth knowledge and experience to work autonomously and design the next generation IOT edge devices including carrier board design , other data acquisition and special purpose processing systems for real time computing use cases. This role plays a key role in the building of a futuristic and next generation digital factory infrastructure as West transforms in the digital space. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Possesses solid understanding of the complete product cycle of hardware design from requirements , hardware design document , design level block diagrams , power estimation , circuit design , simulation , component selection , Schematic Capture , Layout Analysis and Design , Validation of Layout & Gerber , Test report , Risk Analysis , PCB Fabrication. Utilizes knowledge and experience to test using various lab equipment. Shows thought leadership in designing the future embedding systems , software engineering and development associated data acquisition and processing devices on SOC (system of a chip) architecture. Serves as a consultant and engineer for data acquisition device , sensors and carrier boards. Acts as a resource for junior team members to enable their capabilities and accomplish the department s priorities. Builds and maintains strong relationships with the team and business to ensure collaboration and alignment within and outside of the D&T function. Using knowledge and expertise , solves complex problems , recommends architecture and processes , recommends changes to existing architecture and processes , and also exceptions to architecture , technology , and process standards globally. Helps drive agile and DevOps culture of implementation and product management culture. Other duties as assigned Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience with specialization in Electronics and / or Instrumentation 5 - 8 years of related work experience Knowledge , Skills and Abilities: Familiar with safety standards like ISO 26262 and DFMEA , FMEA and DRBFM Extensive hands on experience with System on a Chip (SOC) boards , designing solutions and building products including carrier board designs Strong knowledge of programing using SDK for various SOC boards in the market Working knowledge of TCP / IP , UART , SPI , I2C , CAN and USB etc. with embedded programming and debugging skills Experience and knowledge of tools like Altium Designer , Mentor Expedition , Cadence Allegro and Orcad Expertise in end - to - end PCB design to Gerber release for production including interfaces DDR3 , DDR2 , PCI , CAN , ETHERNET , USB , UART Experience with NVIDEA SOC boards and CUDA platforms including vision systems and machine learning Deep understanding and experience in Microsoft Azure , Google Compute Engine and AWS Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high - pressure environment Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time Ability to work autonomously in a fast - paced & complex environment with a self - motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general & technical aspects of the job. Decisions made with in - depth understanding and interpretation of procedures , policies and business practices to achieve results. Willingness to global travel Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
