  Role Summary/Purpose:
  The Monitoring Solutions team is seeking for a Lead Systems Designer with strong systems acumen. He / She will provide Leadership on Systems Design for the MS products and programs. The Lead Systems Designer leads a small to mid-sized cross-functional program team to deliver the technical content, performance, intellectual property and quality deliverables of an NPI program or Maintenance/Sustenance program.
  Essential Responsibilities:
  The LSD ensures the vitality, quality and safety of the products that are in the market driving timely customer issue resolution, implementing the right design changes, CAPA and demonstrating compliance to various standards and process.The position has system design responsibility to ensure that product programs achieve all design objectives required to meet customer and business needs, including: feature and functionality, quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacture-ability, regulatory, compliance and cost. The LSD must understand and capture the user needs into system requirements and is responsible for the architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems.Duties include (but are not limited to):
  - Provide Systems Design leadership for the released products, New Product Introduction and maintenance programs.
  - Ensuring that the quality targets are satisfied and retires technical risks as they arise on the program or released product
  - Leading the design team and design control process from requirements development, design planning to design transfer
  - Leading the design team in the development of verification and validation planning and execution for NPIs and released products
  - Developing requirements flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, risk analysis, integration and test, manufacturing, field and customer support including corrective and preventative actions to ensure customer satisfaction
  - Driving the architecture, vision and design requirements for the product all the time balancing implementation complexity, risks, manufacturability, serviceability and qualityQuality Specific Goals:
  - Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  - Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  - Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  - Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones
  - Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
  - Responsible for the validation of all GxP relevant applications and maintaining the validated state of those applications
  - Aware of and comply with the change management work instruction
  - Develop an open quality culture within the organization that fosters issue discussion and decision-making based on quality and compliance objectives
  Qualifications/Requirements:
  - Bachelors or Master s Degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Biomedical Electronics.
  - Strong core Java & SOA design engineering experience
  - 10 years Industry experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study.
  - 2-4 years experience in project leadership within engineering environment.
  - Experience in design and development of software systems/products or medical systems/devices.
  - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work harmoniously within a team as both a leader and a contributor.
  - Demonstrated experience driving requirements development and management and flow-down to subsystems while ensuring traceability between design and test procedures.
  - Demonstrated ability to work with technical leadership team to implement product platform/subsystem multi-generation technology plan for a specific release of a global program/product
  - Demonstrated broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design and technical depth in software design and implementation. Good hands on experience on embedded SW development, communication protocols.
  - Demonstrated engineering knowledge having experience with the full product lifecycle
  - Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards
  - Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization.

  Desired Characteristics:
  - Master s Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent degree
  - Demonstrated experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) regulatory compliance process, design history file and related documentation
  - Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues
  - Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of a product/program
  - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work within and influence cross functional team members
  - Previous experience working in regulated medical field
  - Demonstrated ability to balance multiple program priorities while meeting critical commitments
  - Previous experience working with patient monitoring products
  - Demonstrated applied 6 Sigma competency.
  - Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of a product/program.
  - Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment
