Job Description

Role Overview:

McAfee is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer to assist our efforts on delivering quality releases of one of the core components of FTE Engineering group. The FTE Engineering group delivers endpoint security and protection components that are integrated into multiple McAfee products. In this position, you will work alongside other Software Quality Engineers and Developers to design, test and support components that ship to a very large customer base. You will be also responsible for producing automated test harnesses to test that functionality behavior matches a specification. You are expected to have a broad experience of the complete development lifecycle and windows internals. Delivering on tasks relating to feature development and QA, infrastructure, tools and release deliverables, this position represents an excellent career growth opportunity.

About the Role:

  • Plan, design, develop, verify, and maintain automated and manual test suites
  • Will be responsible for creating, maintaining and executing automated test scripts (using Python and C++)
  • Write C++ code to test Windows kernel driver code with a goal of writing robust, reliable and repeatable tests that find issues early
  • Contribute to existing tools, automation frameworks and related solutions
  • Increase product automated test coverage and improve the release quality
  • Analyze product, system and feature designs for flaws and improvements
  • Provides technical input for product sub-system, application research, design, analysis, testing, process improvement, and troubleshooting.
  • Peer review code changes to portions of the product and test source code
  • Validate and verify customer-facing features, end-to-end, across the product platform

About You:

  • C++ programming in Microsoft Windows based environment
  • Windows API
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in scripting languages, for example: JavaScript, Perl, Python, Shell script
  • 3+ years of experience in Software QA and Automation roles
  • Execute tests on kernel code to ensure product quality
  • Software Engineering, Lifecycle, Agile development processes, Software test principles
  • Working in a dynamic team development environment
