Job Description

    Job DescriptionThe Cloud Native Storage Infrastructure team is seeking a senior engineer (Staff-2) to design and develop Storage Management software for Virtual Machines (VM) and Container workloads for vSAN, VVOL, Kubernetes, Docker and other emerging Cloud Native Storage technologies.Our teams mission is to build the best storage management software for VM and container based applications.Responsibilities: Responsible to lead the Dev and Quality teamsDev Responsibilities:Design and Develop next generation storage management technologies for Cloud Native Storage systems to manage container workloads using Kubernetes, Docker and other emerging container technologies.Design and Develop Storage Management features in vSphere and VSAN - Storage Policy Based Management (SPBM), First Class Disks (FCD), ESX and vCenter (VC) Storage.Design and Develop storage management software to manage container technology for running stateful, data intensive applications such as databases and modern cloud native applications.Mentor and lead a strong team of developersParticipate in design and code reviews.Hands on codingMaintain deep technical and business knowledge of storage industry directions and trendsWork with senior management and other senior technical leads to define the road map and future technical direction for the team.Quality Responsibilities:Lead the Quality initiatives for the entire organisation and ensure the quality teams are delivering on all the quality goals.Analyse functional requirements for the product; understand customer use case scenarios and enhance the product as neededDefine and review test strategies and test plansReproduce complex Customer problems and understand the Root Cause of the problems and drive Corrective Action to fix the problems.Participate in bug triage activitiesRequirements:A Bachelors or masters degree or PHd in computer science or related field.15 - 20 + years of experience designing and developing software for large scale distributed systemsGood experience designing and testing for large scale distributed system softwareExperience working in product development R&D teamsExperience in Storage or Distributed Storage Systems is highly desirable.Strong background in object-oriented design and programmingMust have at least 10 years of strong coding experience in core JAVA and/or C++Must have deep knowledge of scalability issues and multi-threaded programming in mixed Windows and Linux environmentExperience coding in Go and Python programming languages is highly desirableExperience developing software for managing Storage or containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker and any other emerging container technologies is highly desirable but not mandatoryKnowledge in Kubernetes and containers is a plus.Knowledge of QA methodologies/Software development life cycle.Should possess strong trouble shooting and debugging skills.,
