Job Description

Your Role and Responsibilities As Sybase DBA You will be involved in providing DBA support in all aspects of database administration such as installation, configuration and migration with Sybase ASE If you thrive in a dynamic, reciprocal workplace, IBM provides an environment where you will be challenged and inspired every single day. X and 12. x Troubleshooting problems real-time issues Handling of any Capacity Thresholds breached, Monitoring error, job logs to check database health and corruption, Handling Memory Management issues, Handling slow performance of ASE, Replication server Sybase installation and version upgrade from 12. x to 15. x and above.   • Should have 8+ years of experience as Sybase DBA on Sybase Adaptive server enterprise
  • Excellent knowledge on ASE 12.5 through 15.7
  • In depth knowledge on performance tuning, installing and configuring
  • Handling reorg and Update statistics of tables, indexes
  • Restoring/recovering databases from backups,
  • Understanding of Sybase Replication (MSA, table level and warm standby)
  • In depth knowledge on Replication/cluster.
  • Knowledge on shell scripting.
  • Ensure SLAs and operational KPI s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur.
  • Analyzing root cause of issues and working with teams in closing them permanently.
  • Provide rotational on call support during off-business hours.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Ability to develop maintain UNIX shell scripts
  • Willingness to work is US business hours (EST)
