SUMMARY - The Systems Engineer 2 designs, prescribes, analyzes, deploys, integrates, optimizes, configures, evaluates, tests, debugs, and administers applications, software programs, and the underlying program, network, andphysical and/ or virtual infrastructure necessary to adequately support their operation. The Systems Engineer 2 usestheir understanding of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and system requirements to recommend anddocument specific elements of architecture including servers and their components, networking and relatedappliances, and third party software and programs. The Systems Engineer 2 supports opportunities for processimprovement, re-engineering, and automation, and employs practices intended to improve customer satisfaction andreduce costs. Systems Engineer 2 is expected to leverage their expertise and skillset and may be asked to provideguidance and mentorship to peers during informal knowledge transfer opportunities and formalized training. TheSystems Engineer 2 may be called upon to act as a point of escalation for needs within and outside of conventionalbusiness hours. This duty may be scheduled in advance or in an on-call capacity according to the needs of theorganization.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of 3 years of experience in systems design, systems analysis, and systems deployment in support ofmulti-platform system integrationsDemonstrable experience with the design, analysis, deployment, integration, optimization, troubleshooting, andconsultation of the following disciplines or technologies is required:virtualization software including VMware and/ or Hyper-Vcloud computing programs including Amazon EC2 and/ or Microsoft AzureSSL Accelerator/ load balancer appliances from F5, Cisco, and/ or Kemp Technologiescomplex client/ server and web-hosted application softwareclient and enterprise-level operating systems including Macintosh, Windows, and/ or Linux and networkoperating systems including Microsoft, Novell, and/ or CiscoLAN, WAN, and wireless networking concepts and fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, firewalls, VLANs, IP subnetting, routers, switches, and TCP/ IP networkingstorage technologies such as Storage Array Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), DirectAttached Storage (DAS) and RAID strategies governing data storageLDAP solutions such as Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, and Apple Open DirectoryWindows PowerShell and scriptingenterprise backup systems and best practicesBachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline , or experiencecommensurate with a four-year degree is desired.One or more certifications indicating formal training and expertise with the design, analysis, deployment, integration, optimization, troubleshooting, and consultation of technical or project management disciplines is desired.,
