• Be a technology consultant and do R&D on emerging technos for early technology watch and develop tools and solutions for R&D for Engineering the Systems Platform foundations for CMS products.
• Design, Install, Configure PoCs of our next gen and evolving technos like private Cloud, Cloud Native, automation Infra structure for the HPE R&D Telecommunications business-unit, CMS, which uses that PoC investigation reports, whitepapers to make decisions and direction to develop leading edge telecommunication services in the 5G space.
• Public and private cloud knowledge and hands on experience
• Customised OS profile and hardening development and delivery on RHEL and possibly other linux.
• Opensource culture, practices, knowledge, evangelism and active participation in communities.

Description:

• Manage the set up and hosting of PoC, staging cloud infrastructure environments, with the guidance of architects, in Bangalore/India for HPE s telecom biz unit (CMS). Going from initial design, up-to hand over to operations/SRE team.
• Consult your R&D customers towards the systems technologies, architecture and best practices for the R&D needs.
• Develop tools and solutions for R&D needs.
• Develop ansible based automation for mundane and administrative tasks and help support/SRE team implement it.
• evelop, enhance and deliver the HOE Customised OS profile with hardening(CiS-CAT, DISA, STIG,SCAP,FIPS,PKI etc) and its delivery models like network, DVD, USB kit etc.
• Evolve the cloud native infrastructure and your knowledge/experience towards new technologies (service mesh, observability, Container+, Infra-as-Code.), service-models (IaaS) and operating models (DevOps, Agile.).
• Help support/SRE/Infra Delivery members in sizing, capacity planning, tool and infra selection etc. Contribute to knowledgebase articles based on troubleshooting experience on job.
• Technowatch emerging technos and experiment and report whitepapers or ingestigation reports on them.
• Being part of the Indian branch of our WW team (India, US, France), you are based in Bangalore and from there work across cultures and geographies with a specific focus on India.

Experience and Skills Required

• Ansible and python development skills . Go will be a plus. Web development skills preferred.
• good systems engineering skills in linux, virtualization, networking, storage, security++
• openstack, AWS Clouds, cloudnative, kubernetes, ocp,
• Broad knowledge and experience in cloud and virtualization technologies (OpenStack, KVM, vmware, k8s, ocp)
• Breadth and depth of knowledge on system technologies Excellent trouble shooting
• L2/L3 networking knowledge with external switch configuration (HPE switches preferred or cisco) along with knowledge of vSwitches/vLans and its working, routing, NAT, firewall (iptables/firewalld) etc.
• Preferably having knowledge of SDN, SDS (ceph, gluster, vSAN, OCS etc)
• Kubernetes, OCP, operators, EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, alertmanager, istio, OCP RBAC, SCC, monitoring and remediation.
• Sizing and capacity management at host and pod level.
• Hardware and OS configuration including DL/BL, iLO, raid, storage knowledge and experience along with considerable depth in Linux/RHEL OS configuration.
• Familiar with HPE Infrastructure portfolio (HW an SW).
• Education & Experience: Bachelor/Master Degree, plus 5 years in IT/Telecoms industry. R&D experience preferred.
• Experience in working across multiple sites, organizations and cultures multitasking and prioritization skills.
