Job Description

In Cisco s Collaboration Team we offer the best collaboration suite in the industry. We are making that experience easier, faster, and smarter with technology that simply works.As part of the Webex Suite of Collaboration Services there is a solution called UCM Cloud which focuses on the calling aspect of collaboration. As a Senior Architect of UCM Cloud Calling Engineering you would be responsible for Designing each customer solution and making sure each solution is validated via automation. The architect will review each customer configuration and make sure any concerns have automation test defined and run against the solution. Analytics are critical to any cloud offering and understanding and prioritizing the ones most critical to this task is also a must. The platform supports customers working on prem and over the top off prem, therefore, understanding how the different network options affect reliability and quality of service is required.A key focus will be to design solutions and work with junior engineers, so they can implement your designs with full confidence and understanding. You will work with the engineering team helping to motivate young engineers.Your job responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of Collaboration technologies, products, protocols, processes, tools and methodologies
  • Have a solution architecture and validation background with 10+ years of experience in architect solutions with collaboration, networking and data center technologies and validation of the solutions
  • Experience with networking, virtualization and storage technologies, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting and management applications
  • Understand tools like PCD and how it applies to the UCMC products.
  • Hands on Knowledge of Call Manager applications like UCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, and Expressway as it applies to upgrade, backup and restore, provisioning, and clustering over the WAN
  • Experience in automating release, continuous integration/deployment system, and relevant tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Nexus etc)
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management as well as technical contributors
  • Mentor and coach senior engineers through technical challenges
  • Provide thoughtful counsel as a member of senior engineering leadership
  • Exceptional team player with the ability to quickly develop and foster stakeholder relationships, and strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated track record of leading or working with cross-functional teams
  • Serve as the high escalation point for customer-facing issues on the team
You are a great fit for this role if you have:
  • 10+ years of experience in architecting, designing, implementing, configuring and troubleshooting collaboration solutions.
  • Hands on Knowledge (Install, Configure, Troubleshoot) of Call Manager applications like UCM, Unity Connection, IM&P, and Expressway as it applies to upgrade, backup and restore, provisioning, and clustering over the WAN.
  • Understanding of Trunking, PSTN, Dial-Plans, Networking (DNS, IP Addressing, NAT)
  • Understanding of security and certificates
  • High level of understanding in networking (Switching, routing, MPLS, SD-WAN) and data center (VMWare, SAN, UCS) technologies
  • Experience in automating release, continuous integration/deployment system, and relevant tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Nexus, etc)
  • Automation (Scripting, Jenkins, Flowable)
  • Understand tools like PCD and how it applies to the UCMC products.
  • Source Control (GIT)
  • Work with cross-functional engineering and operational teams
