Position Overview:UTC Aerospace systems based at Bangalore is involved in design and manufacture of Avionics products with state- of- the- art facilities. Global Engineering Center - Bangalore is invloved in design, test, build, and support electronic components and systems for all parts of the Enterprise. This position as Technical Manager is to manage electronics design team and deliver products/ solutions with quality for the EMCC group.Primary ResponsibilitiesExecution of Engineering Projects:Leads a group of Technical Leads/ Designers working on design modules to create and validate complex designsEstablishes hardware design requirements from systems.Develops complex sub- system trade studies for safety, power and cost and algorithms. Drives the usage of appropriate Product Development tools to support cost- effective technical solutions with heavy focus on platform design, reuse and knowledge- management.Develops effort, schedule and cost estimates.Stays up to date on latest developments in the area of digital and analog design.Identifies opportunites for process Improvements and implements them on regular basisLeadership:Performs the full life- cycle development tasks with minimal amount of supervision and direction from the SBUs Mentors and train next level Leads/ Managers to improve their creativity, thoroughness, and technical savvy.Responsible for recruitment, retention and career development of team members.Establishes roadmap for team with the support of SBUDevelops competency of the teamKey CompetenciesCustomer Focus, Commitment to Continuous Improvement, Drive for Results, Problem Solving, Dealing with Ambiguity, Building Effective Teams, Managing and Measuring Work, Motivating Others.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Experience with high reliability controller electronics and power switching circuitryMicroprocessors, DSPs, FPGA and PLDs development experience Complete development life- cycle experience: requirements, design, development, integration as per DO- 254 and qualification tested to the requirements of DO- 160.Requirements: BS / MS degree in Electronics Engineering with at least 10 years experience hardware development.
