Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwideJOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the IS&T Head of Engineering TechOps, you will be in charge of delivering IT technical solutions including the deployment of Engineering simulation/CAE applications, High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions and Azure cloud infrastructures for simulation (Simulation Move to Cloud Projects) You will become our primary technical expert on our Engineering simulation application and help assess, design and deploy new solutions.Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead the assessment of IT technical architecture and contribute for solution design of simulation projects.
• Liaising with Simulation Functional Architect to address all challenges related to simulation virtualization (Move to Cloud), HPC cluster design and to address simulation applications issues.
• Prepare the Technical architecture, ADD (Architecture Design Document) and present it in ASB (Architecture and security Board) meeting to secure the project approvals from management on feasibility of architecture & security.
• Prepare the ToolKit (Details of server, ports, network flows, firewalls etc.) for the designed solution.
• Adjust CITRIX Virtual Machine (VM) in Azure cloud to achieve the best performance (Hyperthreading, Graphics card settings, any other VM parameter tuning).
• Coordinate with cloud team, Infra partners and editors to resolve technical issues in simulation virtualization and application.
• Propose the monitoring mechanism for different simulation applications licenses (floating, named user, nodelocked etc.)
• Write scripts for licenses monitoring if required.
• Propose the ideas for license hosting convergence to simplify the simulation landscape for licenses hosting.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity, Network, Operation and Active Directory teams to address application authentication and VM access related issues.
• Help in sorting out the technical issues related to HPC implementation (queue management, flow openings, user access, license server configuration), Intens framework (Integration platform by Semafor) to help in addressing cloud infra related issues.
• Should be able to advise the different environment needed for the project (Dev, Pre-Prod and Prod) and fix the access issues while working with cloud team and Infra partners.
Qualification & Experience:
• Bachelor/Masters of Engineering in Mechanical/Computer Science/IT with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge and hands on experience in some of the simulation applications (Hyperworks, StarCCM+,Flotherm, Simpack, Ansys, Dymola, Saber etc) both as an end user and IT technical expert.
• Experience with simulation application technical design and architecture
• Experience with programming (C++/Java/C#) and Scripting writing (Bash/shell) for simulation applications solvers.
• Experience with simulation application installation and maintenance in Windows and Linux environments
• Knowledge of license installation, configuration and management for licensing tools (FlexLM, LMS, DSLS etc.),
• Experience with Troubleshooting IT issues in pre-processing, post-processing and solvers of different simulation tools.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, application authentication mechanisms (LDAP, LDAPS,SAML) and SSO implementation.
• Knowledge of HPC cluster management, job scheduling and fixing IT issues in HPC.
• Exposure of simulation applications move to cloud will be an added advantage.
• You demonstrate good communication, efficiency, and ability to execute. You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
• You have a very strong leadership and are business value oriented.
