Job Description

The Business Entity:Ciscos Mobile Internet Business Units (MIBU) vision is to enable the mobile network to be the de-facto platform for connectivity, applications, and value creation for its global service provider customers.The Team:The MIBU Technical Writing team develops and maintains technical documentation for high-end wireless voice and data networking equipment and software used by some of the largest wireless carriers and vendors worldwide.Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a variety of technical documentation deliverables adhering to Cisco s Technical Writing standards
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed multi-functional teams working to deliver valued, accurate, and timely content
  • Demonstrate technical expertise/experience in support of corporate initiatives and revenue objectives
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation in a technical stream
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years of meaningful experience in the Telecommunications or Networking industry
  • A team-focused, self-starter with the ability to run projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven engineering environment
  • Superb oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with content management systems, DITA-based XML authoring and/or structured authoring
  • Experience with audience analysis and user experience standard methodologies
Desired Skills:
  • Working knowledge of IP data and voice networking, mobile core networks, virtualization, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX, scripting
  • Experience with XML authoring tools such as Oxygen and XMetal
  • Experience with unstructured authoring tools such as FrameMaker and Word
  • Experience with vector graphic editing tools such as Visio and Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with developing content following the Agile development methodology
