Job Description

    Dear Applicants,We are Hiring forTeradata DBA with 6-8 years inBangalore Location.Roles & Responsibilities
    • Administer Database Operations to maintain the Teradata database structures, space, users, purge jobs and alerts associated with the Teradata Environment
    • Perform System Administration to add, delete, or modify users, directories, access rights, disk space and processes that are associated with the underlying.
    • Operating System on the Teradata Platform.
    • Provide Security Administration to monitor, add, delete, or modify Teradata security roles, passwords, and access rights as required.
    • Maintain and execute Backup and Restore processes related to the Teradata environment including adding, deleting, or modifying existing Teradata configurations: Creating, updating, or modifying Backup and Restore scripts within the Teradata Environments
    • Monitoring the operations of the backup and recovery processes
    • Execute Performance Tool Operations to maintain the Teradata performance tool settings in the Teradata Environment on an ongoing basis.
    Teradata performance tools included are:
    • Teradata Viewpoint alerts,
    • Teradata Priority Scheduler Facility.
    • Teradata database workload management tool settings.
    Additional Responsibilities include:
    • Collect system usage statistics, including performance and capacity data.
    • Maintain a record of events and changes to the production Teradata.
    • Environment Infrastructure and update the Operations.
    • Manual Monitor and analyze and remediate poor resource usage across the system.
    • Identify and analyze poorly performing queries.
    • Recommend index improvements.
    • Recommend statistics improvements.
    • Recommend compression opportunities.
    • Recommend space usage improvements
    • Recommend Teradata Active System Management (TASM) workload management adjustments for peak windows.
    • Assess any new queries or workload on the system against Teradata performance best practices.
    • Migrate structures, access rights, processes and procedures from quality assurance to pre-production and pre-production to production.
    • Other tasks assigned by the BCBSNC Project Manager and/or the BCBSNC Authorized Representative.
    Skills:
    • Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices
    • Thorough understanding of database/data warehousing
    • Best Practices Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
