Job Description

*Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience., Responsibilities:

  • Advocate a user-centered design that enables our users perspectives and productivity.
  • Incorporate complex business requirements into your design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other UX colleagues on team projects and mentorship opportunities.
  • Develop detailed research proposals that outline goals, scope, and participants, organizing and analyzing research insights to present your findings to the team.
  • Identify usability concerns within the product, and make recommendations to improve the designs based on research and feedback.
  • Define and create user interaction models for use during testing of proposed designs.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of full-time UX design and research work experience.
  • Experience with qualitative methodologies including usability testing, cognitive walk-throughs, contextual inquiry, remote testing, and surveys.
  • Advocate for users by seeing the big picture, yet provide detail-oriented perspective to back up your strong point of view.
  • Relevant experience or degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction or a related field preferred.
Skills:
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tailor and design effective, appropriate research approaches within the technical constraints of the application.
  • Collaborative nature with a strong record of influencing with educated proposals.
  • Expert knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, OmniGraffle, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InVisionApp.
