Job descriptionVeeam Backup SMELocation BangaloreJOB DESCRIPTION:As a part of Operations team, he/she needs to:Adopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirementsResponsible for managing the customers backup infrastructure using various backup tools like Veritas Netbackup,, VEEAM Backup and Replication ,Data Domain, Veritas Appliance, OPSCENTER, and VTL sManaging the daily customer review SLA compliance calls pertaining to the backup recovery operations.Performing the daily health check for all backup tools, tape libraries, data domains and all other backup infra components.Complete tape management in the backup environment including tape offsetting and recalling them from third party vendors as required.Creating backup scripts for user backup for UNIX and Windows serversCoordinate with Vendor for software and Hardware patches/updates/break fix. etc.Investigating and Troubleshooting Failed BackupsCreating knowledge base articles for BAU / L2/3 engineersDemonstrated knowledge on VEEAM Backup and Replication 11/ 10 and knowledge of Veeam DB, Log, Server and Client Options.Validated knowledge on Database backups RMAN, SQL, SAP and ExchangeWorking experience of data-deduplication with respect to Veeam and Veeam Replication implementation and managementWillingness to work in rotational shifts: 24 X 7. Provide On call support during weekendProven debugging and analytical skills with solid grasp of system development methodologies, techniques and toolExperience in decommissioning of Media server, appliance, Data Domain and Tape library and Knowledge on VTL s, Backup Tools OPSCENTER, and VEEAM ONEExperience in VMware backup concept and implementation and Restore, Basic Knowledge on VMWARE environment along with NDMP backups, NetBackup version 7.7.X, 8 and 8.1.XAmbitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to workIntuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time managementProven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededUp-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publicationsKnowledge and Skills Requirements:
• Actively develops knowledge of EYs data protection and data backup infrastructure including technical assets and applications used in a region.
• Evolving knowledge of EYs businesses supported within the region to recognize the impact of data storage and backup technology issues to a specific business unit and to identify issues that impacts a particular business or location.
• Good expertise in Veeam Availability Suite, IBM Spectrum Protect & Veritas NetBackup technologies
• Strong foundational skills on MS Windows, Unix/Linux platforms.
• Thorough analytical and problem-solving skills
• Work on escalated cases
• Must be individual contributor for assigned projects and active participant
• Need to be a Solution provider based on KPI Reports
• Need to be expertise in handling storage appliances like Data Domain, NetBackup appliance etc
• Good hands-on Experience on Encryption Solution SKLM, BES
• Good hands-on Experience on tape libraries Dell, ACSLS
• Vendor management
• Knowledge in cloud technologies like Azure, AWS etc
• Need to test upcoming technologies and provide detailed documentation to management
• Conduct technical sessions to Operations, Delivery, Optimization & Compliance teams
• Need to have good documentation skills, must be a quick learner
• Need to have good presentation skills
• Basic interpersonal skills to engage with others, stay calm under pressure and maintain the credibility the business has in Data Protection Consultant
• Time management skills to prioritize their own workload and work through assigned activities with efficiency.
• Oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• Basic understanding of ITIL and Service management process
