Job summaryAs the VFX Supervising Producer for Prime Video s new initiative, you will lead a small team in India comprised of innovative VFX specialists, and manage local external partners and vendors. You will daily ensure that each entity is positioned for success, keep information flowing at hyper-speed between India and the broader US based VFX leadership, and report directly to the Head of Production in Seattle. You ll be a key and critical player in the development of a technologically challenging, highly scalable VFX pipeline to serve Prime Video s new initiative for years to come.You are a technical thought leader who deeply understands the existing VFX industry, workflows, and pipelines. You have expert knowledge of all industry leading 3D VFX tool sets, composition applications, and rendering engines - and have an eye on the new tools and technologies emerging and being developed today, for future use tomorrow. You re an expert in Shotgrid and have previously built custom workflows that maximize Shotgrid s deep archive of automation tools.You think in terms of optimizing and streamlining, of content supply chains, scalable workflows, finding efficiencies everywhere, finishing/packaging processes, delivery efficiencies, and automating process wherever possible to increase - you guessed it - efficiency. QA/QC is key to efficiency, and you ll ensure QA/QC opportunities are mazimized and give your team the support they need to ensure QA/QC never falls short.Key job responsibilities* Manage a small VFX team, currently growing to include; VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, VFX Pipeline TD and VFX Operator.* Own the consolidated VFX pipeline, it s day-to-day operations and input/output.* Consolidate tools and techniques by establishing mechanisms to derive the best-in-breed techniques, then work with our VFX dev teams to build them out and train vendors to deploy them.* Track and report progress on all work directly to Head of Production (Seattle) on a daily basis. Report ongoing/as-needed to the broader VFX Studios team, and team of engineers and developers.* Be able to develop proof-of-concepts for VFX post-production pipelines* Work closely with our VFX Supervisors, Engineering lead, and multiple PM s.* Take the lead locally on day one for all new VFX projects in collaboration with our growing India based team internally, and alongside our existing local (India) partners and vendors.* Source, identify, and propose new partners and vendors as we grow and scale.* Independently evaluate technologies, tools and techniques among our vendors and partners.* Supervise ALL new VFX jobs from client acquisition to final delivery of media. Be hands-on whenever/wherever required.* Exhibit thought leadership with regards to trialing, prototyping and on-boarding new software and tools into our existing pipeline.* Exhibit extensive knowledge of cloud enabled workflows, pipelines, and media delivery platforms.* Advise and understand the complexities that come with supporting 3D VFX and immersive projects, from inception through to completion.* Maintain excellent, positive relationships with outside vendors, suppliers, and partners.* Serve as point of contact for top level disucssions concerning our own India based VFX team, vendors and suppliers - and present their interests on calls with US based leadership.A day in the lifeAs the VFX Producer, a typical day will consist of managing artists/external vendors/vendor schedules/pipeline deliverables/client requests/team requests and keeping the Head of Production up-to-date around the clock. In parallel, you ll be keeping your eyes over the horizon, helping our developers and engineers envision the future of VFX products, and pipelines as we move towards greater volume and demand greater efficiency at every stage. If you live and breathe 3D Computer Graphics and VFX, if you yearn to be part of the future of the VFX industry, and if this position sounds exciting to you, please read on., BASIC QUALIFICATIONS* 5-10 Years experience at senior level with VFX specific workflows* 5-10 Years Experience working within a VFX production studio, managing post production workflows, and media management* 5 Years Experience with media management, file management, DIT workflows, cloud based workflows* 5 years Experience working with Shotgrid in a leadership capacity* Experience with FFMPEG* Working knowledge of most major 3D VFX tool-sets, composition applications, and rendering engines* Working knowledge of Nuke, Maya, AfterEffects* Expertise in major VFX industry software tools such as Nuke, Maya, Houdini, Blender* Experience with systematic scaling of VFX pipelines, including procedural techniques through tools such as Houdini, VFX automation and process improvement, and working in studios with hundreds of distributed artists. * You ve worked within a well known VFX studio working on high budget productions* You ve supervised a small team of VFX specialists* You re comfortable working in tandem with other teams working abroad* Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced online environment* Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to meet aggressive deadlines* Proactively manage timelines, deliverables, and keep projects on track around-the-clock
