Institutional Securities Technology Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST s clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets. Job Profile Commodities Technology Department within FIDCOM is responsible for the global Commodities business front office trading and risk systems, which includes Physical Commodities and OTC/Listed Derivatives across Oil, Gas, Power, Metals & Investor Products. Systems functionality provided for Pre-Trade Pricing and RFQ, Trade Capture & Lifecycle, Inventory Management, Forward/Volatility/Correlation Marking, Front Office PL/Risk, Gas & Power Physical Scheduling. Transaction & Risk data feed a wide range of Firm-wide systems, including Market Risk, Credit/CVA, Regulatory reporting, Settlement, & Confirmation. The technology team in India is well established and actively contributes to all critical business and engineering projects. The team is further growing and responsibilities. The teams work in agile model and all developers interact with business stakeholders to participate in solution design and implementation. The global Commodities Pre-Trade Pricing and RFQ, Trade Capture & Lifecycle Systems team is responsible for developing technology solutions supporting the commodities trading business from front to back. The system supports market data, pre-trade sales-trader workflow, pricing automation, Orders/RFQs, hedging/risk management, feeding trade/order executions, including both exchange traded trades and bilateral over-the-counter trades into Morgan Stanley commodities trading systems in real-time, managing the lifecycle of derivatives from order creation to trade executions and post execution management throughout lifecycle events management such as pricing, rate set, price locking, amount overridden, listed trades pairing, expiry, takedown, novation, option exercise, financial settlement, physical delivery process and etc. The system covers multiple commodities business lines including Oil liquids, Natural Gas, Electricity, Metals, Agricultures and Index etc. In terms of the trade types, it handles lifecycle for futures, swaps, basis swaps, various Options, OTC derivatives, exotic trades, and physical forwards trades. There are constantly new requirements for changes in commodities trading front-to-back systems to enable the new business, meet regulatory demands, address the Technology infrastructure upgrade requested from external parties such as exchanges etc. Therefore, this is a great opportunity to learn commodities trading business at global scale, understand data model of various trade types and develop system to support commodities trading front to back. We are looking for a technical lead, with strong software design, solid code development, and good problem-solving skills. The candidate should be able to drive large-scale projects, break them down into smaller deliverable pieces and proactively manage all diverse stakeholders. The candidate needs to collaborate with the global commodities team. The candidate should be able to train and help the junior team members to improve their technical ability and give them hands-on technical guidance. , * Primary Skills
• Strong core Computer Science concepts around logic building, data structures, algorithms, system architecture/design
• Strong software engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on coding in Java multi-threaded applications and distributed systems
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Interest in gaining Financial Markets business knowledge, particularly about commodities trading
• Self-motivated, quick-learning, and comfortable with working in a global team
Good To have Skills
• Experience in server-side CORE-JAVA development with distributed caching, messaging frameworks, n-tier architectures
• Micro-services with Spring, Spring boot
• PL/SQL, Linux OS, Kafka
• Experience in UI technologies - Angular, React
• Good System Design and Architecture Skills
• Dockers, Kubernetes
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguities and working out technology solutions for the business
