ETS provides capabilities for all stages of the Firm s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of our employees. Application and end user services are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database services.Optical designs for all existing and new strategic initiatives within ENS. This role requires an intimate working knowledge of optical technologies including but not restricted to DWDM, SONET, SDH, ROADM, Carrier ethernet, Low latency systems as well as vendor equipment (ADVA, Ciena, Cisco)Carrier Path Analysis dark fiber and managed routes , Experience with BER Testing of Ethernet and Fiber channel , OTDR analysis , and fiber characterizationRole critically includes Level 4 Engineering support and escalation cover for major operational issues and being the SME for all optical technologies.The role is also expected to provide thought leadership on emerging optical technologies and architecturesIn addition the candidate will be well versed in Linux, Python, Ansible etc and the tools associated with automation and orchestration within a network environment.This blend of skills will be used to help formulate an automation framework for Engineering leveraging tools already used in-house and other tools as necessary., SKILLS REQUIRED:Expert-level Optical Network Engineering knowledge :Datacenter switching (Cisco Arista), WAN core routing and MPLS (VRF, BGP OSPF), Campus and Branch (DMVPN, SDN, QoS, WaaS, Wifi, IPSec, MACSEC), Perimeter (NAT, ACL, Firewall integration)Practicioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices:Linux and Open SourcePythonNetwork-as-code Jinja2 Templating, YAML, CI/CD pipeline and toolset such as Git/Gitlab/Jenkins or equivalentAnsibleModel-Driven Telemetry - configuration, collection, data analysisIntegration skills (API) with existing NMS toolsets (Spectrum, SevOne, Splunk etc) and other supporting systems ServiceNow, Infoblox etc.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Collaborative and innovation focused mindset.SKILLS DESIRED:Tailf/Cisco NSOMicrosoft Office Suite
