DESCRIPTION Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA). The FOAA accounting organization supports Amazons financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches globally for Amazon in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. This leader will represent the accounting organization to various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, manage through ambiguity and complexity and support multiple, simultaneous project launches impacting the global accounting organization. This position is expected to have basic finance/accounting experience to help the new business launch team identify and incorporate necessary reporting, have a solid understanding of computing system interaction and can identify internal control elements into systems or tools to support new business activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to accounting, finance, business and IT leadership.This person will gather business requirement, develop, deliver, and manage of technical solutions that are both scalable and need minimum upkeep effort after delivery.Primary responsibilities:1. Build platforms (e.g data-warehouse infrastructure/AWS S3/EMR), tools, dashboards, queries, reports, and scripts that will automate recurring tasks for stakeholders while ensuring data quality and integrity. Ensuring accuracy of data and data analysis is of utmost importance.2. Identify and document sources of information in databases, data/table links/joins between data/table sets. Extract data using SQL from database types such as Oracle, Redshift, MySQL, Amazon Aurora.3. Develop technical solutions using SQL, VBA, Microsoft Access, VB Scripts/Python, and R.4. Develop dashboards, automated reports, visualizations on Tablue/PowerBI/Excel.5. Work with Continuous Improvement team (ACES) and Project teams to translate business requirement into proof of concept, project resource, and timeline estimate.6. Create documentation of technical solution, FAQs, troubleshooting tips, trail of bug-fixes if any.7. Work with technical teams/software-developers across geographies to ensure accurate and sufficient data inflow in systems or data-warehouses used by FOAA.8. Organize training session on basic technical topics to increase self-service among users (usually with finance/accounting background) for small fixes.The position represents an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and high paced environment, supporting a global organization and offers significant opportunities for rapid growth.Basic qualifications:1. Familiarity with Datanet/ ETL tools (internal)5. Strong experience in dash-boarding using Tablue/PowerBI/Excel/PowerPivots. Familiarity with R to enhance dashboards is a plus.6. Knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g., VB Script, Python, Perl, Ruby)7. Strong communication skill and team player.8.
