About the TeamWe are a new team being built out within Meesho. This team is about figuring out the next growth lever for Meesho. As Meeshos core business continues to penetrate the e-commerce space for Bharat in retail goods, THIS TEAM will be a NEW vertical to unlock new opportunities in building low cost e-commerce across different verticals - Travel, Content, Healthcare, Fast Fashion - for the Bharat users.Our goal is to unlock the next 1B USD topline for Meesho. Since we are a young team, we will be fast, experimentative, research-led and build & learn on the go. This role is for those folks who are looking to learn the craft of building new businesses from scratch and build it sustainably for the BHARAT user base.As Manager - Strategy & Operations, youll have the opportunity to create business models, unlock Product-Market-Fit and see this vertical into the GROWTH PHASE - just like building a new Startup. The bottom line At Meesho, youll have a fun time as you grow.About the RoleAs a Manager - New Initiatives, you will work directly with the General Manager - the Head of the Vertical to solve business-critical problems. Youll identify key opportunity areas through primary and secondary research, find user & seller problems, set priorities, come up with solutions and drive implementation in different types of projects.Youll shape up the right solutions in coordination with the product team (in case your solution requires tech interventions). Youll also work with the team leaders to create and improve the operating systems of the team (strategic planning, competitive intelligence, building review systems, culture and so on).What you will do

• In-depth primary and secondary research into different consumption verticals of India, which will also require you to go on the ground talk to users and any other stakeholders of the industry
• Evaluate different startups out there that might be relevant for acquisition to kick-start this new vertical; due diligence of startups
• Engage in meetings, email and expert calls with internal and external stakeholders to bring in strategic direction in building this vertical
• Build experimenting strategy for different products to test and launch in the vertical
• Set the goal metrics for Product-Market-Fit along with the GM for the new vertical and enable the execution teams to reach those metrics for PMF
• Lead in problem-solving tasks and discussions to unlock product-market-fit
• Own the end of end goal and execution ownership of your charters
• Play a key role in framing strategic documents(working sessions) for problem discovery, exploration and solutions
• Create and structure monthly review documents to be presented to the senior management / CEO
• Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations across the business team
• Be fungible in the role to potentially lead an execution charter along with the strategy role for the new Vertical
• Act as a strategic partner and advisor to the Head of the Vertical in business critical decision making

What you will need

• 3-6 years of total work experience. At least 2 year of experience in consulting firms / strategy offices of tech startups
• Experience in startups/tech companies in similar roles will be an advantage
• Proven problem-solving, project management skills and ability to derive core user insights from different types of users (consumers, sellers etc.)
• Proven leadership and organizational skills in your work experience
• An MBA degree is not a MUST have, but great if you do have it
