Job Description

The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.The Operational Risk Department at Goldman Sachs is an independent risk management function responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to identify, measure, and monitor operational risk across the firm. This Analyst role is for a professional with interest to become a subject matter expert dedicated to actively employ and strengthen the components of the Firms operational risk management framework. This role will be responsible to conduct review and challenge process to identify, monitor, measure, assess and test the Firms global operational resilience landscape. By proactively identifying and remediating weaknesses in key controls and risk exposures, the candidate shall help prevent potential client, financial, and reputational impact to the firm, and contribute directly to the firms success. The team leverages its experience in operational functions, operational risk management, markets and regulations to conduct reviews across the Operational Risk Division.Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firms global operational resilience framework, specifically supporting the resilience testing workflow to ensure a front-to-back approach to operational readiness and response to business disruption events.
  • Performing scenario testing across of Important Business Service to assess current state and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Designing and delivering desktop-based scenario testing exercises which include stakeholders from technology services and third-party suppliers.
  • Conduct Review and Challenge Sampling Process on operational resilience plans and related testing exercises as part of the resilience team.
  • Ensuring any vulnerabilities and actions identified during scenario testing or lessons learned exercises are agreed with owners and documented and achieved in good time.
  • Assisting in the performance of due diligence exercises to identify and articulate risks and vulnerabilities, including opportunities to improve our resilience.
  • Participating in the delivery of training and awareness exercises which aim to embed the Operational Resilience strategy within the business.
  • As appropriate identify issues that impact the resilience of the Firm/divisions and track them to resolution.
  • Understand the regulatory authorities around their approach to operational risk management including representing the firm on several sector-wide working groups and forums.
  • Be apprised of changes to the Firms business profiles and when necessary; perform detailed reviews of trends to identify significant risks and ensure monitoring and remediation.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine qualitative and quantitative approach to measure the resilience posture of the Firm/divisions.
  • Perform data analysis to identify patterns / trends and areas of risk that may warrant further review or testing.
