Job Description

: Senior Staff Software Engineer, Local and Communication AdsLocation: Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaExperience: AdvancedMinimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience working in software development with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C , C#, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in machine learning, large-scale distributed systems, algorithms, or investigative thinking.
  • Ability to own large business issues at the Google Ads level.
  • Ability to solve hard technical and product issues across fluid products (e.g., Map Ads, Google Local Services, Offline Ads, Messaging Ads).

  • Develop and scale local personalization roadmap (e.g., queryless Map/Waze ads context-dependent), address and solve these technical issues in a privacy-safe compliant way.
  • Create a clear value proposition to strengthen the return on investment story for the non-online outcomes we drive for our customers.
  • Be the technical expert and guide the team towards the specified goals.
  • Build a firm technical culture in the team with a focus on engineering excellence and product and system health, and mentor junior engineers.
