Job Description

    Role Overview:As a Pastry Chef at our company, you will exhibit your creative baking and decorating talents by leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas. Your role involves continually improving guest and employee satisfaction while staying within the operating budget. You will also lead the development and training of the team to enhance results while upholding standards. It is imperative to ensure sanitation and food standards are consistently achieved.Key Responsibilities:- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage the pastry culinary team- Supervise and manage employees, understanding their positions well enough to perform duties in their absence- Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors- Maintain the productivity level of employees- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees- Lead shifts, personally prepare food items, and execute requests based on required specifications- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation- Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products in the culinary field- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor- Ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance guest satisfaction and retention- Manage day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations- Achieve and exceed culinary goals including performance and budget goals- Train employees in safety procedures, follow loss prevention policies, and manage inventories- Support training and development activities for staff members- Complete disciplinary procedures and documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures- Participate in training staff on menu items and review staffing levels- Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, and attend pertinent meetingsQualifications Required:- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional areaOR- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional areaCompany Details:At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, fostering an inclusive environment where the unique backgrounds of our associates are valued and celebrated.
