Want in Join the V Team Life.What youll be doing...The Principal Engineer, UX Research will design, manage, mentor and direct UX Research team members who are based in India and focused across critical Verizon customer and employee experiences to ensure world-class insights work and leverage learnings and best practices across these portfolios. At times, they may be called upon to conduct hands-on research and storytelling during their teams growth stages. They lead by example.

• Direct, Mentor and Manage User Experience Research
• Work across portfolios to help architect the approach for experience research and own getting alignment on the Insights plan and methods for each portfolio they direct. He/she is also a key liaison with Design, Digital Operations, Experience to ensure that we are collaborating cross-functionally.

As a UX Principal Engineer at Verizon, youll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital products and services. Youll lead a team of UX designers, working closely with software development teams to deliver seamless and engaging experiences for our millions of customers.Youll need to have:

• Bachelors degree or six or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Four or more years of experience managing a team of 4 or more people.
• Lead and mentor a team of UX designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Drive the UX vision and strategy for key products and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and measure the effectiveness of UX solutions.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and gather feedback.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in UX design, advocating for user-centered design principles within the organization.
• Experience with qualitative generative research, evaluative methodologies and usability from concept formation through launch.
• Experience collaborating with global teams across time zones.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A Bachelors or Masters in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Computer Science (with Human-Computer Interaction focus), Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Psychology or Design related degree.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your design process and successful UX solutions for complex problems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Passion for creating innovative and user-friendly experiences that delight customers.
• Ten or more years of professional experience.
• Eight or more years of experience in Experience Insights, including conducting research with a US customer base, experience in UX design, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring design teams.
• Experience providing insights to inform digital engagement (website, apps, APIs).
• Experience conducting insight work for retail environments and in-person services.
• Experience leveraging secondary data, trends and learnings to set the cultural context for the team.
• Ability to work effectively in an agile context.
• Experience coaching and advising multiple teams, simultaneously, to push the strategic quality of their insights.
