The role is primarily responsible for fulfilling day-to-day backup operations and backup/recovery, jobs monitoring, and troubleshooting failures. In addition, has accountability for ensuring data integrity, and providing detailed documentation of operational procedures.Key Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining and developing Backup technology. Proactively maintain and develop all Backup technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service Engineering of backup administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs Maintain best practices on managing backup and services across all environments Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions Proactively monitoring backup performance and capacity planning Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hotfixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. Leverage extensive technical knowledge within multiple areas (technical, business, applications, etc.) in support of global storage infrastructure management activitiesUnderstanding and demonstrating responsibility for the safety of self & colleagues by following all safety protocols provided by Syngene Adherence to all environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies & standards at all times in the workplace Wearing all PPE as required. Adherence to all procedures related to Syngene s data integrity policies Compliance with Syngene s s quality standards at all times. Educational Qualification: B.Sc/ M.Sc/B. Tech /B. E /MTech Electronics and Communications or Computer Science or Information TechnologyTechnical/Functional Skills: Responsible for gathering requirements, installation, configuration, and testing of backups. Sound knowledge on handling DR Backups, managing Standby CommServe. Perform Media management activities (Tape movement, loading/unloading tapes from tape libraries) Administrative knowledge of Tape libraries. Configuration of Disk libraries and tape libraries. Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions Experience in managing VM Snapshot backups and administrative knowledge on Vcenter. Experience in 1-Touch Recovery and Virtualize Me. Knowledge of Windows administration. Knowledge of CommServe, Media agent and client up-gradation, and Service pack deployments. Experience in preparation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures. Experience in configuring Storage policies and Global Deduplication Storage policies. Strong knowledge of handling Aux copies, Gridstor storage. Creation and administration knowledge on Deduplication Partitions. Must have experience handling Internal Audit and external regulatory Audits FDA Audit coordinates with team and compliance towards 21 CFR part 11.Experience: 8+ Years Minimum 8 years of experience as a Backup administrator Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at every level and in every department are essential. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server/Unix server/Linux required. Microsoft Project experience preferred. Experience managing multi-site storage infrastructure globally like storage, backup, recovery, and or data managementBehavioral Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. excellent presentation skills (oral and written) and proven ability to elicit cooperation from senior leaders and other stakeholders Excellent team collaboration skills, ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Eagerness to dig into technical questions and examine them from all sides. Enthusiasm and a high degree of adaptability.
