Job Description

Summary:

As a Firmware Developer at Smart Joules Pvt. Ltd., you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of smart controllers.

The ideal candidate for this role would share our passion for innovation in energy optimization to eliminate energy waste.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of the requirements, architecture definition, design and debugging the BMS controllers.
  • Developing firmware for the embedded controllers.
  • Performing effective analysis of functional issues or performance profiling with the firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.
  • Contribute to process improvements to ensure firmware quality and time-to-market.

Skills and Qualification

  • 2+ years of experience in Embedded Firmware development for STM/TI/NXP or similar microcontrollers in C or C++.
  • Has relevant past experience of deployment of the firmware.
  • Knowledge of firmware deployment methodology and practices
  • Knowledge of IoT in Embedded systems with Ethernet/Wifi/BLE/LoRa etc.
  • Strong grasp on basic communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART and on higher-level network protocols like HTTP, MQTT, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Python scripting and bash scripting for automated testing.
  • Comfortable understanding hardware schematics, using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • In-depth experience of software and firmware development methodologies to ensure firmware quality and time-to-market (design verification, code reviews, prototyping, and product testing).
  • Experience in RTOS, bootloaders is preferable.

Preferable:

  • A desire to save the planet.
  • Experience in unit and integration testing.
  • Experience with industrial protocols like Modbus and BACnet.
  • Hands-on experience in embedded system failure analysis.
  • Familiarity and experience with modern agile software development methodologies and practices are preferred.
