The Equities Compliance Reporting team builds and maintains critical Regulatory Reporting systems that focus on meeting regulatory obligations for the Firm s trading activity in the Americas. These include Electronic Blue Sheets, OATS, Rule 605, and Rule 606 Reporting. In addition, the team is responsible for ad-hoc regulatory requests for trade data. A developer in this space partners with stakeholders, business analysts and other developers to drive forward the business agenda through solid design and execution.The ideal candidate should have the skills listed below but in addition should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who works well in a team and thinks and acts strategically. In addition the candidate should respond well to change and quickly pick up new concepts in an ever moving regulatory landscape. When faced with a problem, the candidate should be able to ask questions and leverage the skill set of those around him/her. Daily responsibilities include, transforming requirements into code, attending scrum meetings, reporting on project status, and learning our in-house frameworks and best practices.Responsibilities:- Read and understand requirements from technical specifications- Write Perl code that accurately reflects the requirements and design documents- Write Java code that accurately reflects the requirement and design documents- Write unit tests that exercise all major logic components of the code- Deploy, maintain and performance tune all reports/systems- Level-3 support for applications owned by teamThe candidate should have 3 or more years of experience coding. He/she should be capable of understanding and solving complex problems, have solid communication skills. Financial services experience preferred.Required:- Strong proficiency in Perl (3+ years)- Strong proficiency in Java.- SQL (3+ years)- Bachelor Degree or higher- Excellent written and communication skills- Experience following the SDLC (Waterfall, Agile)- Work experience as level-3 support for applicationsPreferred:- Experience working in medium to large-scale development projects- DB2, Sybase- Version control- Perforce- Eclipse- Spring- HibernateDesired:- Knowledge of trading data, positions data, reference data.- Knowledge of OATS reporting- Financial industry knowledge, preferably in Sales & Trading or Investment Banking., g
