Job Description

    Production Supervisor CTC Budget: ------------------------------------------- Shift: Day Shift Working Days: 6 days a week Employment Type: Full-time Gender Preference: Male Department: Manufacturing Job Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily production activities on the shop floor of a spice and seasoning manufacturing unit. This includes managing a team of workers, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining product quality, and adhering to safety standards. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations, minimizing downtime, and improving production efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Daily Production Oversight: o Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff, including machine operators, packers, and other workers. o Ensure that production schedules are followed and targets are met within deadlines. o Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime. o Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise, working with maintenance teams when necessary. 2. Quality Assurance: o Ensure that products meet the required quality and safety standards throughout the production process. o Monitor raw materials and finished goods to maintain consistency and quality. o Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to implement corrective actions if quality deviations occur. 3. Team Management and Development: o Lead, coach, and motivate production staff to achieve high performance and productivity levels. o Conduct daily or shift-based briefings to communicate production goals and any changes. o Provide on-the-job training to ensure workers are competent and compliant with company standards. o Monitor staff performance and address any issues related to attendance, behavior, or productivity. 4. Process Optimization and Efficiency: o Identify and suggest improvements in production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. o Work with the operations team to implement lean manufacturing practices and optimize workflow. o Monitor machine performance and ensure regular maintenance to minimize downtime. 5. Safety and Compliance: o Ensure that all workers follow safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE). o Conduct regular safety checks and inspections to identify potential hazards. o Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety guidelines. o Participate in safety training programs and lead by example to promote a safe working environment. 6. Inventory and Materials Management: o Monitor the availability of raw materials and packaging materials needed for production. o Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the production line. o Minimize material wastage and ensure proper handling and storage of materials. 7. Reporting and Documentation: o Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, machine performance, and worker attendance. o Prepare daily production reports and communicate key issues or concerns to the Operations Manager. o Ensure proper documentation of any incidents, safety concerns, or production deviations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a relevant field is a plus. 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within food manufacturing, preferably in spices or seasonings. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, FSSAI, and GMP. Proven leadership and team management skills. Experience with production machinery and the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. Proficiency in basic computer skills and production management software.
