Job Description

    Supply Chain Manager CTC Budget: ------------------------------------------- Shift: Day Shift Working Days: 6 days a week Employment Type: Full-time Gender Preference: Male Job Summary: The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and optimize the entire supply chain process for a spice and seasoning manufacturing unit, ensuring smooth operations from procurement to product delivery. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, optimizing logistics, and ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods. The Supply Chain Manager will focus on cost control, timely delivery, and maintaining quality standards throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement and Supplier Management: o Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers of raw materials, packaging, and other essential resources. o Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and timely deliveries. o Monitor supplier performance to ensure the quality and consistency of materials received. o Identify and source new suppliers as needed to diversify supply chains and mitigate risks. 2. Inventory Management: o Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to avoid stockouts or overstock situations. o Implement and maintain an efficient inventory management system, ensuring accuracy in stock counts. o Work closely with the production team to forecast demand and plan for future material requirements. o Optimize inventory turnover while maintaining adequate safety stock. 3. Logistics and Distribution: o Manage the logistics of raw material deliveries and finished goods shipments, ensuring on-time delivery to customers and other facilities. o Select and manage relationships with logistics service providers, including transportation companies and warehousing partners. o Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, balancing cost and efficiency in transportation planning. o Optimize delivery routes and distribution channels to minimize costs and reduce lead times. 4. Demand Planning and Forecasting: o Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to forecast demand for finished goods based on market trends and customer orders. o Adjust supply plans according to fluctuations in customer demand or changes in market conditions. o Develop and implement strategies to reduce lead times and improve responsiveness to changes in demand. 5. Cost Control and Efficiency: o Monitor supply chain costs, including procurement, storage, and transportation expenses, and identify areas for cost reduction. o Implement lean supply chain practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste. o Conduct regular cost-benefit analyses to assess sourcing and logistics options. 6. Compliance and Sustainability: o Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with regulatory requirements, including food safety standards such as FSSAI, HACCP, and GMP. o Promote sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, including reducing waste, recycling, and selecting eco-friendly suppliers. o Ensure that all suppliers meet ethical sourcing standards and labor practices. 7. Team Leadership and Development: o Lead and manage the supply chain team, including procurement, logistics, and warehouse staff. o Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance and knowledge. o Conduct regular performance evaluations and set clear objectives for the supply chain team. 8. Technology and Systems Management: o Oversee the implementation of supply chain management software and ERP systems. o Use data and analytics to track supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement. o Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of all supply chain activities. 9. Risk Management: o Identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, transportation delays, or quality issues. o Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity. o Monitor global supply chain trends and assess their potential impact on operations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus. 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand forecasting. Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software. Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations such as FSSAI, HACCP, and GMP. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
