TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (BIOLOGY LABORATORY) Overview: The position of Laboratory Assistant (Biology) will be a part of the process of establishing and developing the Biology undergraduate laboratory at Ashoka, working under the guidance of the Biology faculty and instructors. No. of vacancies: One (1) Role and Responsibilities: Assisting students for setting up experiments in consultation with the instructors Performing technical duties related to the laboratory activities, including giving technical assistance Giving assistance regarding laboratory procedures, location and use of materials, and the operation of equipment. Setting up and dismantling of apparatus and equipment for demonstration and practical lessons, as requested and detailed by teaching staff. Checking individual components in and out of laboratories after each lesson for damage and quantity. Performing simple experiments. Contributing to a safe environment in the laboratories by keeping safety regulations, explaining safety procedures to individuals using the laboratories. Up-dating the general stock record system of the laboratory. Maintenance of model organisms Ensuring that all equipment is kept maintained and serviceable. Other straightforward tasks, not listed here, which occasionally may be required for the efficient running of the laboratory. Requirements BSc/ Diploma in any disciplines under Biological sciences 2-4 years of work experience in any reputed University/College Biology undergraduate laboratory or equivalent. Ability to prepare and organize laboratory and demonstration materials Basic computer skills Good written and communication skills in Hindi and English Good general subject knowledge Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate change Venue of work: Ashoka University campus at Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonepat in the Delhi NCR ,
