Job Description

    Telco Sales SpecialistAs a Telco Sales Specialist, youll need to have excellent communication and people skills, as youll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat. You will listen to Telco, Media, and Entertainment (TME) sector customer business and technical challenges and suggest various solution paths customized to each customer s unique circumstances. You will build solutions during the presales phase and prove their feasibility and value to the customers through demonstrations of and proofs of concepts for our offerings. You will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions to take and youll be responsible for effectively managing your time. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
    • Work with the telco sales teams to plan the overall hybrid cloud and application modernization strategies within a set of defined telco accounts
    • Guide customers from their initial adoption of basic application server and hybrid cloud technology and grow the account to include rules engines, enterprise service buses (ESBs), enterprise messaging, portals, etc.
    • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts, creating long-term partnerships
    • Work with enterprise sales teams to ensure that Red Hat Application Services and related solutions become the first choice for our strategic customers
    • Create and sustain strategic customer relationships
    • Develop and close sustainable revenue across technologies
    • Guide the extended Sales team to maximize revenue growth
    • Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals
    What you will bring
    • 8+ years of experience working in a solutions sales role in telco industry
    • 6+ years of experience focused on enterprise middleware like Red Hat Application Services, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, MuleSoft, or TIBCO
    • Experience with network functions virtualization (NFV) platforms and OpenStack, e.g., software-defined networking (SDN), storage, etc.
    • Experience with container platform solutions, e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift
    • Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior telecommunications network and business executives with sales mentality
    • Solid background in consultative customer engagements with either a major systems integrator, a network equipment provider, or a telecommunications services provider
    • Understanding of advanced networking concepts like datacenter and wide area networking, security policies, etc.
    • Specific knowledge in mobile, e.g., 5G, 4G, 3G, 2G, or fixed networks like network architectures, service models, or service provisioning
    • Experience with complex telecommunications networking and IT technical components
    • Deep understanding of network function virtualization (NFV), and SDN
    • Background in consultative customer engagement with a middleware provider or on the sales team of a middleware reseller
    • Broad technical experience with enterprise middleware technologies
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executives at large firms
    • Ability to sell solutions in a multi-offering environment
    • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
    • Masters degree or equivalent is a plus
