Job Description

    Role Overview:As a Senior Back-end Technical Lead at Swiss Re, you will utilize design thinking techniques, software development skills, business domain knowledge, and agile architecture principles to develop high-quality backend applications. Your role involves collaborating with various teams to translate business needs into robust technology solutions aligned with the product vision and roadmap. You will be responsible for designing and building backend applications using modern cloud services while adhering to technology governance standards. Additionally, you will work closely with global teams and external partners throughout the product development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and create proof of concept for product application solutions.- Design, maintain, and extend application architecture artifacts.- Participate in design and code reviews, actively engaging in review sessions.- Collaborate with peers to drive backend application architecture best practices leveraging modern cloud services.- Stay updated with technology trends and identify new solutions meeting requirements.- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and consulting for solution challenges.- Define and improve standard methodologies for building, testing, and deploying applications.Qualifications Required:- University Degree in Computer Sciences or similar IT-related fields.- 8-10 years of experience in leading solution efforts and working hands-on to design and develop solutions.- 5 years of experience in programming languages and backend frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate.- Experience in design and development of RESTful webservices.- Familiarity with GoF Design Patterns, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL DB, Oracle, API design and development, and API management on Azure/AWS.- Experience in developing scalable and highly available application solutions using cloud services.- Proficiency in web/application servers like WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, etc.- Experience in Microservices Architectures, containerization, and deployment of applications using Docker and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).- Exposure to Azure DevOps, Cloud Application Architecture, and agile software engineering practices.- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and collaboration abilities.- Prior experience in insurtech, insurance, or product development organizations is a plus.Additional Company Details:Swiss Re is a leading provider of reinsurance, insurance, and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer, aiming to make the world more resilient.
