Job Description

    As an Enterprise Storage Management Specialist at Purview, your role involves the following responsibilities:- Designing, planning, documenting, and supporting the configuration of logical and physical NAS and SAN layouts.- Providing direction for the installation and configuration of all NetApp software packages as needed.- Creating and managing scripts to automate administrative tasks and generate system level reports.- Analyzing and developing solutions for capacity planning and performance tuning based on established service agreements.- Participating in the development of NAS and SAN level solution standards.- Developing detailed design, installation, and configuration documentation for enterprise system deployments.- Ensuring the security of infrastructure solutions and compliance with applicable standards.- Recommending and overseeing projects for system expansion, changes, or improvements.- Collaborating with management to understand business cases and select solutions that meet business needs.- Developing cost-reducing or experience-enhancing solutions.- Staying updated on industry advances and working with vendors to assess new technologies.- Providing hands-on implementation support for projects.- Collaborating with other infrastructure teams for new systems.- Acting as the highest level of technical escalation for production issues.- Supporting system troubleshooting and providing expertise for designed solutions.- Providing input for environment improvements and recommending automated approaches for system administration tasks.- Resolving complex issues independently and coordinating changes with clients and team members.- Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of tools such as CI, WFA, and Active IQ.- Having hands-on experience with Block Storage EMC, Pure, Cisco, and Brocade.- Configuring and troubleshooting SAN technologies like SRDF, Time Finder, and zoning.- Possessing a good understanding of Fiber Channel concepts.Optional Technical Responsibilities:- Understanding VMware infrastructure for datastore provisioning and configuration.- Managing backup infrastructure, preferably NetBackup version 7 or higher.- Understanding networking concepts like VLAN, trunking, LACP, IP addressing, and routing.- Having advanced knowledge of file services administration, permissions management, and file auditing.- Understanding Microsoft Windows environment, including Active Directory, DFS Namespace, CIFS file sharing, and windows clustering.- Ensuring consistent storage provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance, and data protection procedures.Other Mandatory Responsibilities:- Ensuring optimal value from vendors and service providers.- Reviewing and evaluating the teams work.- Leading efforts to improve processes and meet strategic goals.- Developing team, technology, and process roadmaps.- Ensuring adherence to IT processes, including Change & Release management.- Monitoring, alerting, and reporting on NAS performance and capacity.About Purview:Purview is a leading Digital Cloud & Data Engineering company with a strong global presence, providing services to Captive Clients and top IT tier 1 organizations.
